No, we didn't get a police certificate. Our lawyer didn't ask him to get one, and I asked in a different post in this forum and someone said that Ciudad Juarez is an exception. He has only lived in the US and Oaxaca.

is he going to pick up visa in Jaurez?

No, he left after the interview to Oaxaca. The hotel and food are not cheap, and it was very boring for him. Also, it has been 15 years since he saw his mother and brothers so didn't want to waste anymore time. His mother doesn't know he was applying for the visa so it will be the biggest surprise.

BTW- He gave me more details about the interview and he says that before being fingerprinted at the interview the officer asked him "Were you caught crossing the border?" and he replied "no". The officer told him "We are going to fingerprint you". Once they did, the officer let him know the dates that he was caught which was THREE times. He asked him again if the information was true and my husband told him "yes", that he was caught three times. The office then smiled and said "I guess the fourth was the lucky charm" and my husband replied "yes". The officer then typed on his computer and told him he was approved.

I don't know if this has happened to anyone else, but my husband was very lucky. Additionally, our lawyer had told him to respond "no" even though he was caught three times. My husband said that there was another man who admitted being caught once, and he was approved. Also, my cousin knows a lady who admitted being caught at the border and has been in Tijuana for ten years. Are you supposed to admit if you were ever caught at the border??

I have heard it is not good idea to lie to immigration. That It is always better to say the truth.

Good for your husband!!

I have lived in USA and two states of Mexico. I thought Ciudad Juarez was going to ask the police certificates from those two states in Mexico and the one from USA.

Congratulations!!

A question, so he didn't take police certificates with him?

I have lived in Saltillo, Coahuila, Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA.

I already got an appointment in Nuevo Leon to get the police certificate there and i am going to Santa Fe next week and i am planning to get it too.

I am from Mexico and I am getting ready to schedule my interview.

Police certificates are considered unavailable for Mexico (don't waste your time getting any) and US police certificates are not required because the relevant authorities can do the checks themselves.

Hey, my husband got his visa today. However, if he would have stayed in ciudad juarez I believe he would have received it the next day or max 2days. We got an e-mail right after his interview saying "shipment information received". BTW his interview was on April 22.
