263 Days and still no NOA2

Hi All,

Has anybody else experienced or heard of a wait that has taken this long?

We are really struggling with this wait and the USCIS are offering no new information or advice around why this is taking so long. Does anybody have any clue why this might be happening?

We have had no RFE's so we assume the application details are correct but they are not giving us any additional advice other than to wait.

We filed on 24th July 2014 and are still waiting, and as happy as I am for all of the others that have had theirs turn around within a couple of months, this is beginning to feel like a joke.

Does anybody have any advice or suggestions as to why this might be taking so long.

Please fill out a timeline.

Have you put in a service request with a Tier 2 representative on the phone or through the case status online? Have you contacted a congressman or senator?

You are past the processing date so you can do those things.

Cannot advise why it's taking so long, other than TSC is a mess and a joke.

Yes, try getting the US Senator and Congressman involved! I've read other posts where some were saying the Congressman helped more.

263 days? Oh my gosh.... I know it doesn't help, but my heart really goes out to you. I can't imagine how frustrated and helpless you must feel after being so patient and just getting stonewalled by USCIS! May the NOA2 come to you quickly!!!!!

Call TSC and demand a tier 2 officer and that they put in a service request for you TODAY.

Yes, as others have said, open a service request with the USCIS via their 1-800 number. And please complete your VJ timeline. It helps everyone!

so that we can help you out better and it also helps others by keeping the timeline predictions relatively accurate. But yes, please contact USCIS and ask for an inquiry on your case as you are well beyond the normal processing times.

We are at tier 2 however they are saying that we are waiting on background checks with no determined deadline. Has anybody else been through the background check to indicate how long that can take?

We've updated our timeline so hopefully you can see our journey so far. It's very frustrating but we will pursue the senator route and see what happens.

If anybody does know more about the background check process, we'd love to hear from you.

I know it sucks to wait so long to get your significant other approved for his/her NOA2. It seems like ages but since you have no RFEs, than it will happen sooner than later. Looking at my timeline, it took 174 days for the NOA2 and 287 for the interview. The govt. is very slow with these kind of things but patience is key.

There is no words to make this feel better to you. Just do as the others have said, as you for sure have been done wrong. Way past the approval date.

Call and demand for a Tier 2 person, and just bluntly ask ""WHY"" you have been singled out, for such a long approval time.

Especially, since you have been informed of anything wrong with the petition.

We were 186 days, at VSC, and we thought that was awful.,.,.,I really feel bad for you, but fight with what you have!

My husband and I are at day 250 in Nebraska... we are stuck in the limbo of background and security checks as you guys are, unfortunately.

We did 2 eRequests with the same canned reply. Moving to Infopass to try and push, although we know there is virtually nothing we can do but wait.

I wish someone else who has gone through this hell would share their experience in this thread and what they did (if anything) that helped their case. I know by some replies and advice from members that there is really nothing we can do but wait.

Have you written letters to each congressman and congresswoman for your state?

One of them will respond and submit a congressional inquiry into your case. You should expect a reply within a month, but your issue will be recorded. The more people who complain and have congressional inquiries, the more pressure is put on DHS and USCIS.

Even if you have only waited 4 months, you should write to your congressional representatives. The more we are a pain in their butts, the more pressure they will put on DHS and USCIS. Sh!t rolls downhill. Let's keep it rolling,
