Really? That's interestingthey have to have some kind of format. Mine followed that to the letter.

Apparently. Someone asked about the case numbers so I googled and came to the same conclusion as you. I posted it and people immediately said: my case number is not like that. Could be of course that they got confused when the fiscal year starts in October.

I edited my original post but either what you said or people are just counting days not working days...remember all those snow days, holidays, weekends and such....don't count. I'd bet money it's still that way.

Her case number originally said src15211....

Interestingly src15121 numbers are from March 27. Just about the day she is talking about far from being more than a coincidence. I just think the case number was written down wrong.

I think so too and that would explain why it comes up as invalid.

And I learned something new about the last 5 digits. I didn't know that was just the case number. I read somewhere that they represented how many cases was received that day. Would have meant that there was an unbelievable amount of cases submitted when we submitted ours :P

Well the first number of the five digits is always a 5...so really with case numbers is only the last four that are private to an individual.

I looked all this up a few months back.

Yeah I was trying to make sense of the numbers too a while back but it seems you figured them out better than I did. Thank you for explaining, it makes more sense now :)

Yes, there is but it is not formally called "love story" it's a letter explaining how you met in person.

Uh, yes, duh. My point was that this is hardly a "love story". It can be as simple as "we meet while I was in vacation."

9/8/14 - I129F petition sent to the USCIS lockbox via USPS
9/11/14 - Petition received @ USCIS lockbox
9/11/14 - NOA1 Email and text message received
9/15/14 - NOA1 Official notice date
9/18/14 - NOA1 hard copy received
12/9/14 - "Updated" likely because of website repairs, like many of us received
4/20/15 - NOA2 text and email (221 days)

4/29/15 - Sent to the NVC (9 days)

5/8/15 - Arrived at the NVC (9 days)

5/13/15 - Left the NVC (5 days)

5/15/15 - Electronic version arrived at the embassy (2 days)

5/20/15 - Paper copy arrived at the embassy (7 days)

6/4/15 - Status changed to AP (which meant that we could schedule the interview)

6/16/15 - Medical

6/17/15 - K1 APPROVED!!!!

6/30/15 - Passport and sealed envelope delivered via courier

If she wants to call it "love story" what's the big deal?

Something is missing here. At this stage they either:

1) Send you NOA1 or

2) Don't cash check and send the entire package back explaining what is missing by mail.

They do not:

1) Call

2) Ask for more paperwork (it is done at a later stage once it gets to the review stage)

3) Do not cash check if something is missing

Either OP mis-communicated the situation OR what fiance is saying is not true.

The check was cashed.

They didn't call. The fiance called USCIS. They cash the check before starting any work on your file. They are probably working on her case as she is from the Philippines and being expedited.

Post edited at poster's request and returned to thread as follows. A quote of the original has been removed.

Maybe I'm missing something but my number doesn't fit at all.

Reply to removed material returned to thread without the quote:

Maybe it's just all wrong then and they do have a different system.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Other than the fact that such terminology doesn't match the petition nor its instructions and is therefore misleading and confusing to others, nothing at all.

Call things what you want, I'm just saying that a detailed explanation isn't necessary, and I choose to use the correct terminology. YMMV.

Apparently not true as the only 5 in my case number is the WAC15 and the days listed in the next three start with 9 so that cannot mean days past fiscal year.

They must have changed something because others said the same, Although my is from January and it follows the exact format. And if ops numbers are swapped it fits theirs exactly instead of SRC 15211 it's src15121. But who knows....
