so, since i am so excited that NVC may give our case number today (we're waiting for 21 days, lol i know its less than yours), i didn't wait for my fiance and made the call myself. had to dial the number for 20times and when i got through i was put on hold for about 75mins.

the representative who answered my call was so nice (they were right, we should call at night because the reps are much nicer), she said that they still don't have our case yet but she didn't give me the 35 days spiel. she just said to give it a few more days. lol. hopefully when my fiance calls tom they have it already.

keep the faith guys, we'll get our case numbers soon. :)

For the ones that have NOA2's from CSC, but no NVC case numbers yet:

Has your USCIS profile been updated to say that it's transferred? If not, why have you tried calling NVC? Aren't we supposed to be calling USCIS and asking why it had been approved, but not transferred? Or am I reading your posts incorrectly?

From what i'm understanding, on average it only take USCIS 35 days to send a case. You can call NVC to see if they've received it, even if they do not provide you with a case number right away. I'm also understanding from other posts i've been reading that CSC does not always update case statuses online.

I guess there is a possibility I have been misinterpreting this information?

I received NoA2 from USCIS 03/05, based on the USCIS receipt number the application is approved.

We called USCIS 2 days ago and they said the application was transferred and should be at NVC by now, so the transfer isn't the problem in my case.

My fiancé and I hired a lawyer before we found out about this website. In hindsight, if I had known about VJ, I would not have wasted the $$$ to have a lawyer draw up the paperwork maybe a week faster than I could have done it myself. That is about as helpful as my lawyer has been. She even messed up a couple items in my initial paperwork, causing a delay in my packet being sent out. She also advised my fiancé not to attempt to come visit me, and told him most likely he would just be turned away by boarder control - which I am finding out is not the case whatsoever. Our case is pretty clear cut, I think the only time a lawyer needs to be involved is if there was some sort of issue. Maybe others have a more positive experience with their attorney. I have paid a large sum of money for "peace of mind" that is not being provided.

In terms of not receiving a case number from the NVC, the lawyer has yet again been no help. All she could tell me is that it may take up to 8 weeks and if I don't hear anything by then I have to put in a service request. As my lawyer, you would think it would be her job to look into this matter further, chase up the NVC, possibly contact my congressman if it comes to that (it has only been 33 days for me). Maybe only the petitioner can do these things, but she technically has power of attorney and is my representative, so should be able to help me out.

I understand everyone's frustration, all I can think is that CSC is waiting to send all our files out in bulk, and hopefully we will hear something soon!

In the mean time I have requested information from nvcresearch@state.gov and asknvc@state.gov. My next step will be to contact a tier 2 rep at USCIS if no case number by Friday, then my congressman.

You're right. As your lawyer she should be doing a lot more than just saying 'wait for 8 weeks, blah, blah, blah'. If you've her a healthy retainer she should be doing all the leg work for you. There really shouldn't be a need for you to be calling NVC or USCIS. Obviously that's just thinking logically. When lawyers are involved it's a different story. With me saying that, even though it's only been 33 days, I suggest you give USCIS a quick call just to find out where yout petition is. My USC fiance rang them at 33 days (I think) and they told him they still had it. He's not really familiar with this process as much as I am (visa journey info lol), so not untill I asked him to call back the next day did he actually put the service request in. Tackle it head on! Don't worry about waiting for 35 days, call USCIS, be persistent and ask for somebody on tier 2 (if they really won't transfer you just put the phone down and call bakc till you find somebody who will), see if they can locate your petiton and put in a service request if need be!

Only TSC filers get updates on the USCIS website to say 'sent to NVC' or whatever it is it says. From what I've read for some reason CSC don't do it.

Okay, so I just talked with an operator at NVC, waiting time on the phone was about 12 minutes.

Shortcuts to the operator is well known, but just to have it here too: 1(603)3340700 1(for english language) 1(for approved status cases)

The lady on the phone told me that based on the NOA2 receipt number they don't see my case in the system, and since it has been over 35 days that my case was approved by USCIS, I have to send a copy of the NOA2 to nvcresearch@state.gov to find out where it is.

Guess this is also a standard reply from them, we'll see how fast they respond to the e-mail....

Hopefully we do! If things turn out to be anything like how things were some months back, then we may be in this for the long haul!

2 days ago my Fiance called USCIS, they said the files have already been sent to NVC.

Maybe those documents are in a black hole now or something.

I think I will call on my case tomorrow to the USCIS. I see a lot of posts of people calling NVC, but I'm concerned that CSC could mis-route the petitions as they had last year. I read on this site that two months of petitions were transferred from TSC to CSC, but CSC routed the cases to National Benefits Center! It took two to four months to get the petitions back on track!

Oy vey!

So I just called NVC and I got thru right away... this women was actually really nice. I told her it has been 45 days and she told me to send to that NVC research and she told me I need to start pushing USCIS.. cause the K1 visa's are time sensitive.

I just called USCIS and they had no information. All they could tell me was that it was approved and that I should wait 90 days. LOL! Yeah, that's what I'm going to do...

She couldn't even tell me if they will send out another notification when they send the petition to NVC.

Update:

Last Tuesday 4/13 I called USCIS and (after 3 attempts) got put through to a tier 2 rep. He was very nice and put in a service request for me.

I just now got off the phone with the NVC and they have received my case and have given me my case number! Finally! The rep was so kind and seemed genuinely excited for me.

I hope that means the rest of you have received yours too! :)
