The only way you can get married and file for AOS is if you are already in the US and you two get married and AOS. With that being said, you cannot use a visitor's visa to enter the US with the intent to marry and AOS, because you would be on a non-immigrant visa and that is illegal.

If you decide to marry before this process is over, your K1 will be cancelled and you will have do the the whole process over with an I-130 instead of I-129. Your best bet is to just wait if you are not currently in the US.

If you are currently in the US visiting and would like to get married now, you can do so and AOS as long as you did not enter the US with the intend of marrying when you got here.

March 31st you made a post about your case already being at NVC and hopefully on the way to the consulate? Could you give some more info about that?

I spotted that, but thought the OP meant the consulate has not received it.

So close to the end of this process, it's really not worth risking another long wait. A year is crazy though!
