poverty guidelines for 2015 - AOS

Somebody told me that for 2015 they have updated the poverty guidelines. And yesterday when we spoke to NVC they directed us to I-1864 P (http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf)

We live in one of the 48 Contiguous United States. And for the family of 02, we need roughly USD 20,000 to meet 125% of Poverty Guidelines for 2015. Am i correct ??

She made somewhere around 50 to 55 thousand USD in 2014 and she is expected to make 60 - 65 thousand USD in 2015. We already have tax transcript for 2014.

My wife was wondering if she has to go get our home evaluated to meet the guidelines. I told her we are way up then the guidelines requirement but me being very poor with numbers, she does wants to confirm from the forum members. Do we need to worry??

no not at all... if she makes that much, there is no reason to use assets. You guy should be good

I agree there is zero need to use assets and a primary home will not be considered anyhow.

Don't bother with the home appraisal for two reasons:

• Income is more than enough to qualify negating the need for assets to make up the difference.
• If the home is a primary home, then it will be disallowed because liquidation within one year if the terms of the I-864 were not met, it would constitute an undue hardship to the owner.

Can you link her the I-864P so she can look it up herself? As a USC she should know when her taxes are due (about 6 days from now.)
