Quick question. A friend of mine files taxes as self employed now NVC requested a letterof employment verification. She is a shampoo girl at a beauty salon. Now, should the salon provide the letter orshouldshe write her own letter?

did she show a 1099 on prior years tax returns?

or a rental contract for the chair/space ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thats a very good question. I will ask. But for the sake of the argument lets say she filed a 1099. What do you suggest?

suggest? I never give tax advice without actual facts.

sorry. less typing, that way.

sure - it may mean you dig more , get actual facts, but hey !

The hair salon owner or manager can write a letter stating her employment. Make sure it is typed and has the business letter head on top. The letter must have the following: Date of hire, schedule (hours worked per week), total pay (hourly, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, etc). I do these all the time for my father's businesses. I would pm you an example and you just tell her to fill it out with her info. Hope this helps :)
