Hello,

Is there anybody out there that is having problems reaching the US embassy in Lima, Peru?

According to the DHL tracking number our packet sent from the NVC was received in the US Embassy in Lima, Peru, yesterday, Monday April 6th.

We have been trying to reach them over the phone to set up the interview appointment but we have been told that we need to communicate with them through emails only!!! We did send them an e-mail but they have not replied yet. We are very frustrated because we did not receive our NOA2 until 8 1/2 months after we submitted our petition so we thought that now things were going to start to move faster.

If anybody has any tips or past experiences about how long it took to be able to get an appointment after the embassy received the packet from NVC would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Hi, I think you have to take a deep breath, everything will be okay :-) If they just recieved your case from NVC yesterday it may take them a couple of days to input your information in the system and schedule an interview. Has the CEAC website says that your case is Ready or still says in transit? If it is Ready then you can email the embassy and inquire about your case to obtain an interview letter and instructions via email. The US embassy in Lima no longer accept calls over the phone for questions or inquiries and you have to email them instead. Read the US embassy in Lima info and you will see. Also you can read the previous post on the peruvian portal as I explained how to send an email to the embassy and what steps to follow like completing the DS-160 if you already have a case number. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/543599-lost-and-confused/

I know you are frustrated because of the wait, I really feel for you, but just take it easy, if you panic it wont help :-)

Let me know if you have more questions.

Good luck to you both... This wont take long, believe me. ;-) Maybe in about a month you will have the interview if not earlier. Crossing my fingers for you so everything goes smoothly.

Thank you so much for your advice! It really helps us a lot, specially since my fiancée and I are both so anxious because of all the waiting.

The status at the CEAC website still is ¨In Transit¨, so we will wait a couple more days as you suggested.

Once again, thank you we really appreciate your help

You are welcome, that is what we are here for :-) I know how you feel, I was checking CEAC everyday until it changed to Ready. I was anxious just like you guys, specially since you waited for a while. It will be over soon, believe me, time will fly very fast and you will have interview day.

Good luck and keep in touch if you need anything that I can guide you with.

I think that given the timeframe you have until your interview, you should try out these options:

1. Go to the embassy and ask for a copy of the Appointment Letter and packet

or

2. Try to call any of the doctors, explain them your situation, tell them you have a case number (LMA#) and if that might do it for the medical.

Hey everyone again we did some reading and actually found a couple on here that had this problem and they had the interview without the medical exam then after the interview they scheduled there medical 5 days later and had it, they picked up there medical results the next day and took the hard copy in person of it all to the embassy and were approved after bringing the papers, definitly nice to see that someone had this problem now we our not stressing as much.

That's great!

Since my interview is not until May 28th I will send that e-mail if I don't get the packet in the next couple of weeks.

Please keep me updated so I know what to expect! Let me know if your fiancee ever gets the actual packet by regular mail, how does the medical exam process go and the interview as well! Good luck !!!

absolutely, we have to call today at 3 to schedule our medical and it looks like its about $300 for the vaccines and all. The checklist you get is not a list of the clinics to go to it is just saying that you are ready to schedule your medical, we have a page we found listing the addresses and phone numbers of all 3 places to choose from, we also read that one couple who refused the vaccines the doctor purposely delayed their visa by a month. (so do not refuse them if you want to wait longer)

We will keep you guys posted and we will do our full detailed review of every step from the beginning and explain for everyone. Hopefully all goes well at the interview.
