How long were you and spouse separated during this process?

Hi just wondering how long you and your spouse were separated for during this process? Also, where are you both from (as in was one person in USA and other person in the UK etc).

I have been in USA since Feb 21 and my husband is in Australia. We have his interview on April 21! Not too long and I am grateful that we should not be separated for months on end to a year or so.. But it is still hard.

Add to the fact I am now 4 months pregnant, and that when/if he does get his visa on April 21, we still have to sale our Australian home before we can bring him to USA. This all stinks. We are lucky in so many ways that it is not as long as some separTions, but then again that does not make my emotions settle down and be easier on me.

We have been together for 9.5 years in July and married for just over 3 years, so we did not meet, get married, and then separate. This separation has been something new.

We have skype and facebook phone calls which are amazing and help so much. But having him here in person would be better.

Was a K-1, so it was a little faster, but from the file date of my I-129F to her POE was a 10 month duration. That minuses the approx 2 weeks we spent together while we awaited NOA2.

My spouse and I were away from each other for 1.5 years, but a few months of that time away was before we started the process.When we actually started our K1 Fiance Visa process, it was exactly 1 year from the date they received our package when I entered the US and saw her again. We were caught in a situation where I couldn't go see her (denied at border, no ties to Canada) and she couldn't come visit because she was working towards a promotion at work so we could pass the minimum financial threshold for the i-485 (which she got, so proud of her).

It was incredibly hard, but Skype made things a little easier for us. I promise, the distance does finally come to an end!

We were apart for a little over a year, then I visited for two weeks. It was another three months after that visit before I was able to move here with the CR-1.

Before that, we'd been long distance for a number of years with periodic visits, so we were kind of used to the long absences

If hubby lived closer we would visit. But a ticket from Australia and back is quite expensive. It is too much longer we will probably have a visit soon regardless but we are trying to wait until everything is finished. My'2 months seems small now!

We have been together since dating in 2006, and moving in together since 2007, then being married in 2012. Now in February 2015 we have been separated and it seems awful

Well, we aren't yet married yet, and I've last seen him in September, but we've been at this distance thing for over ten years. So I can totally understand how difficult it must be for you lirpa11. It's funny how when we've been together, yet been apart for so long, that you'd think the wait we're currently going through should be easy... and yet, it's not. I can only imagine the stress is terrible, especially with a baby on a way. Hopefully not long for you now.

We have been away from each other for 3 years

first time was 4 months. Then he visited me when i gave birth to our baby.

Then the 3yrs... And hopefully within few months we will be together.

Skype, facebook, emails really help.

Sending mails (postcards and loveletters help)

Its is hard. Not easy at all.

But everything happens for a reason.

Yuna, even if a couple had been apart for awhile I don't think it would be easy. It would be so frustrating! I've been at it since early feb,so ay e 7 weeks and it's terrible. It's worse for him though, I am in the usa and getting settled I and he is just missing me and said he doesn't like our house as its sad to him without me and our dog there (dog is in usa with me). He is staying with family and friends to help keep busy.

And wow biaobaio, that's a long time!!! We are hoping to be done with everything (visa, house sold etc) by August as baby is due August 31. I am praying. Just hope it all works out it has so far so I amsure it will.i just need to give it time....

My husband is in USA, he is US citizen. And I live in India.

now have an interview on 6th may. And I hope everything gets as aspected at the interview. I don't have more strength to endure this pain of separation.

1 year and 5 months.. April 13 is my husbands and daughter's interview.. Still worried about getting denied. But they are ready and have everything they need. I have 2 more nights left to wait to find out the result for thier interview and I feel like the hours are getting slower.. Wish my family luck. I am so tired of having my family being apart.
