Expedite request was approved at NVC on March 31 (email).

CEAC status is still "At NVC", on April 2.

What is your experience? When is it going to be forwarded to the Consulate?

I'm not sure what the normal timeframe is, but it has literally been one business day. I wouldn't expect it to be that quick.

Congratulations, Shauneg. How did you find out about the case being shipped?

I called NVC today (April 2) and they tell me, it is still being prepared for shipment at NVC. No timeline they can share.

From NVC? Mine hasn't yet that's why I can't give you a timeframe. All I was saying was even with an expedite I would guess they would need more than a day. I'm going to call at the one week mark from when the received/expedited it. Which will be next Tuesday. Sorry if you took what I said as rude, but I know it looks like 3 days but really it's only been one with today being the second.

I send an email (with case number, petitioner name& DOB, beneficiary name&DOB) stating the reason why your case should be expedited (with supporting document if you do have) to the email address: nvcexpedite@state.gov.

They will forward your request to your embassy and let the embassy decides. Its took us 10 days to received the approval.

Some people in the forum said that they call NVC and put the expedite request in thru the representative but i prefer to email as I can actually send supporting documents and give them the full story.

Indeed. Email is better. Yet better is to have a congressman office submitting the request for you.

My approval took 11 days.

I figured, there are at least three types of expedite request approval:

- through USCIS

- through NVC, so that the Consulate completes the case (i.e. reviews the documents) and expedites the interview

- through NVC, so that the NVC hast to complete the case and send the files for the expedited interview at the Consulate

And I just completed Ds260 which isn't available before. The iv fee say NA so I guess I will pay it when I bring my daughter to her interview. Glad that it's moving and we another step closer to have my baby here. :)
