February/March 2015 i130 CR1 filers timelines and rants!

Hi all,

I couldn't find a March filers timeline on here, so I've started a thread here. Please feel free to add on as we go!

09 March 2015: I-130 Petition for my husband mailed to US Embassy London

10 March 2015 I-130 delivered to US Embassy
13 March 2015: I-130 received, processed, and payment taken (NOA1 dated March 11)

...currently waiting on approval and LND number.

US Embassy website shows 5-6 week processing backlog for I-130 applications. I will try to keep updated!

There are never very many DCF cases, and those that do get to file DCF are lucky that their process moves quickly enough a tracking thread is rarely needed!

Looks like your approval should be coming up in the next couple weeks, though! Yay!

I know how you feel, we; my wife and I sent off our petition for me recently and I'm in the same boat looking for a rough timeline. Here's our current timeline so far.

20/03/2015 - Despatched I-130
23/03/2015 - Delivery confirmed via Royalmail tracking

26/03/2015 - Payment taken from UK Credit Card, NOA1 dated 26/03

NOA 1 states a current processing time of 30-45 days.

Oh no, that's not what I meant. Just, it's just less common to see those big long threads following progress!

Ask questions (and don't be worried - London is a piece of cake)!

I hope so! My husband is disabled and requires ongoing wound care (until he gets surgery we plan to do in the US) so the medical and interview are worrying...but majorly it's only a physical disability so perhaps they'll be kind and not ask too many specific questions or look at him as a sitting duck for a public charge I'm so worried we will say something (too much about his conditions maybe though they are managed with meds...). Joint sponsor meets requirements + we have savings of our own (speaking of, savings are in my husband's name--does that need to be mentioned anywhere on my I-864 or some other form?). Trying to remember to breathe LOL

26 March 2015: Mailed ACRO for police certificate
14 April 2015: Received ACRO in post
21 April 2015: I-130 approval notice received! (NOA2 dated April 20, 41 days)

Will be e-mailing the IVU at London for the lnd number later this week.

Prior to the approval of the I-130, I used uscis.london@uscis.dhs.gov . Once my husbands I-130 was approved, it was transferred to the Immigrant Visa Unit and I emailed them using this london.usembassy.gov/niv/visa_contact_form.html

Thanks, I'm glad to see you have your NOA2.

I'm hoping to get my NOA2 in the next week (or two), I'm not in any particular hurry for the LND number as I'm going to be flying out to the USA on 16/05 (or 05/16, I should probably start getting used to this ) for three weeks. So I'm hoping to have my LND number waiting for me when I get back if not I will contact them on the link you have so kindly provided.

You would be correct! I have no idea why it varies so much lol. I've seen "normal" timelines that were started in November and took 6 full months, and timelines that started in January and have already been issued. Average for February/March filers so far is leaning towards about 4-5 months.

I would recommend based on recent London timelines and our personal DCF experience... DCF all the way... I've sat on our application between each stage because Wifey (USC) wanted to maximise the length of time here in UK to do more European travelling/sightseeing etc. before we move, but (assuming I get approval next month) the entire process in it's entirety for us is 12-14 weeks start to end, so less than 4 months. Sure beats NVC queues!!

Can't say I'm impressed by all the stories I'm hearing of documents getting lost in the mail! You can bet I'm going to be calling up to check on it.

I'm not sure you can call anywhere about it. The only thing I think you're able to do anymore is use the contact form on the website. :-/ I'm actually about a month behind a friend of mine and well, here's her timeline so far:

Feb 2nd: Posted I-130 to London
Feb 4th: Payment taken for I-130
Feb 9th: Email receipt received
March 13th: Petition approved, receipt by post.
March 24th: Requested ACRO Police report by post.
March 30th: Inquired about LND# via email and was given the number. Was told they sent letter saying they were ready for me to continue on March 17th (never received). Still waiting on ACRO.
April 2nd: completed DS-260 online, still waiting for ACRO.
April 7th: Booked medical for April 29th @13:50.
April 11th: Received ACRO thru the post.
April 29th: Attended Medical. Appt was @13:50, was finished around 15:30.

Going off her report, I contacted the Embassy via the contact form requesting an LND number for my husband. Since her I-130 approval and LND letter were issued literally 4 days apart I thought well surely if I waited a week they'd have an LND number available for him! I submitted my query via that contact form, and two days later I got this generic mess:

So who knows what's going on...lol. But do try! It never hurts!
