I think you're comparing apple to oranges. You have every reason to be frustrated because your husband's visa is taking an obscene amount of time, on the account of AP. I don't believe anyone will dispute that, but on a positive note you hold the US government responsible and not other immigrants. In fact I never saw you take your frustration on others whose process began after yours and whose spouses are already stateside. If anything, you have kept your vantage point unchanged and you're not one to take your frustration on the wrong people.

Because the government is responsible for allowing these things to happen to us. As a USC I should have priority processing, instead the embassies dog us out, tell lies and make it difficult.

It really is all about posturing. Dems won't back it because it would make them appear less inline with the immigrant community. Repubs will make it a hot button issue as they always have but ultimately, they'll always push away from restrictions on businesses and towards building a fence or some other expensive non-sense. Going after people who illegally employee illegal immigrants is the cheapest and best way to solve this problem in my opinion.

Nobody will deal with it because we'd need to tackle more serious issues. For starters we'd need to tackle the 14th Amendment and citizenship as a birthright, and take it from there...

Our immigration system is broken because there are so many loopholes in the law and precedents set by Federal courts.

We're setting the bad example and allowing immigrants - both legal and illegal; or intended - to make a mockery of our laws. Before we blame it on those who are making use of these loopholes, We The People need to demand that our representatives revisit the law and rewrite them in a manner that is compatible with modern times.

If we were smart we would build the magical RWN dream wall, think layers of barbed wire, cement walls, land mines, punji stick traps, the whole enchiladas to coin a phrase. But to make it affordable *cough* just use illegal immigrants aka undocumented Democrats as forced labor. A win win!

Hopefully when the Republican's gain control of the House and Senate they will fight to make E-Verify mandatory and impose heavy fines and penalties for American business owners who knowingly employ illegals.
