Hey everyone,

I just sent my I29-F packet in to Texas last Friday and received the NOA1 today with the transfer to California notice! I'm hoping that this means that things move quickly (well relatively, lol). Good luck everyone!

so are they just going to be transferring new ones and leaving all the old ones to rot at TSC? I mean that's great news for the people filing now...but terrible for the people from Oct, Nov, Dec, etc....

It feels like there is absolutely no way of understanding what their method is!!!

Ok. Now that is baffling too. Maybe they decided to transfer petitions from specific states to CSC? Florida being one of them? No idea...

Give it a couple weeks, then we will know more.

Right now, we know nothing.

We don't even know how people would be notified of a transfer - by snail mail, certainly, but who knows if the status update only will reflect transfers? It may take a while for us to get clarity.

And technically, the Florida filer was not transferred. He was routed, despite his state and past assignments, directly to CSC...in the sense that he was assinged a WAC... not a SRC... number. So maybe other process changes are forthcoming.

Next week, we should know more. :clock:

Well unless we see more of this type of thing happening, then I suspect that this was an anomaly. TabeaK is correct: one data point isn't enough to really know anything at this point. I tend to think that some newbie at the TSC simply made a mistake and so nancyandissam basically just won the lottery.

As for news of the transfers, yeah I suspect that the notices won't come until later today, perhaps the evening timeframe.

Also, a couple of folk have asked why I and a few others seem to think that it will be the November/December filers who will be transferred. The answer is that we don't know that obviously, and it is in large part based on what happened last year in the August transfer. That said, it also makes some sense if you view the situation from a certain perspective. That perspective being that those of us who are "close" to having our petitions adjudicated in the TSC are considered to be "next in line" and therefore this perspective would assert that a transfer for us would only delay our adjudications even further. This assumes that whoever is transferred will spent some time in-transit and then be placed "at the back of the line" in the CSC, which is something that an actual USCIS rep told one VJer not too long ago when they inquired over the phone about a transfer to CSC.

But there are a couple of holes in all of that. The first being that those of us who will remain in the TSC because we "are next in line" will have our petitions adjudicated in a timeframe that would be less than what we would receive if our petitions were transferred. That isn't at all clear based on past performance within the TSC. Last August's transfer did almost nothing to increase the TSC's I-129F processing speed; and there's little indication that another one-time transfer (if that's what it ends up being) will be any different. So who knows which route would help those of us who've been waiting the longest.

The next hole is with that "back of the line" theory. It's not at all clear that the pending TSC transfers would be placed at the back of the line. That might be the case but we won't know for a while. And it's not clear just how busy the CSC will become with all of the petitions it will soon be receiving, which are as we all know not limited to the I-129F.

All of that said, for me personally at this point I'm just too far along in the game. I've waited far too long, suffered too much (our son is due late next month or early May and will need to be born abroad) and just don't feel comfortable with a transfer. At the moment it does seem like a transfer would only delay the receipt of my NOA2. Naturally however we don't get that choice, so like everyone else I can only sit back and see what happens. If I was to make a prediction though, I would say that those of us who have been waiting the longest won't be transferred. I'm sticking to November/December as an "experienced guess." LOL

We'll see. I'm very interested to see who actually receives their notice of a transfer, so please post as soon as you know! Thanks!

I see this as a great thing for those long suffering waiting, people!

We hope so. However, so far it seems to be new applicants being routed to CSC, who would otherwise have gone to TSC. This may very well make lead to decreased processing times, but unless they transfer applications currently at TSC, the benefit is solely to new filers, not those already waiting. It's too early to speculate. We are guessing, until we see more reports.

If that's the case, I will be sorely tempted to withdraw and file again, considering we are also from Florida and our NOA1 is March 4! But if I did, I bet TSC would start moving super fast just to spite me.

Like jdwrentm said earlier, it's like that scene from Office Space where the minute you switch lanes in traffic, your new lane slows down and the one you just left starts moving really quickly. :rolleyes:

Ha ha :D I think we might have been tempted to do the same, had we not been approved last week! 224 days in TSC. It wasn't the approval that drew the toast - it was getting out of TSC that had us cracking open the wine!
