Hi there,

I'm quite stressed that after waiting almost 2 years for my interview. I finally got my interview letter stating that my interview is scheduled in Doha (Where I worked till December 2013) and ever since have been in Delhi (My Home Country -India). My concern is that I had even notified NVC about the location change and received a confirmation for the same but eventually this is what has come to pass. Is there any way I could feel normal? Friends...plz :(

Thanks for the quick response dear. The NVC hardly attendant calls. Any alternative you suggest that could serve the purpose? Cheers

As a first step, I suggest contacting the Doha consular post through whatever contact information is listed in the interview letter. Advise them of your location change petition along with the related confirmation.

Subsequently, get in touch with NVC, or the entity that scheduled the interview. Did you get the letter at your Delhi address?

*** Thread moved from Introducing Our Members forum to the Embassy/Consulate forum -- topic involves that phase. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I did #VisaGrant....and they asked for a scanned copy of the appointment letter as well as other relevant details..including a proof of location change (passport entry exit stamps , etc). I did that already ..they generally take 24-48 hours to respond ..let's hope for the best. Thanks

As you're new to the forum, we suggest waiting out the 24-48 hours response time lag. Don't need to stress if you've already contacted the Consulate; it's been only 2 days. I speak from experience, they're timely about responding to inquiries.

OK friends..Finally..I received an email from the Immigration Unit -US Embassy, New Delhi mentioning my File has been requested to be sent from Doha to Delhi..My interview was originally scheduled for 3rd May 2015. While my passport would still have had 6 months and 8 days validity (to be precise) which is still more than the required 6 months to travel as its due to expire on November 10th.

They have mentioned it's gonna take upto 15 days to send my file from Doha to Delhi. But, isn't it harsh on me to suffer when I had clearly notified the NVC for the change of location? I anyways requested for ateast the same interview date (if not earlier). Considering my case was already processed for an interview..is it too much to ask..to have the interview on the date originally scheduled?

Need your feedback guys? Appreciate your input.

Cheers :)
