I filed I 485 green card through marriage aboUT a month ago. I just receive a RFE stating that based on the documents submitted with form I 864 the income didn't meet 125% of the poverty guideline for the petitioner/sponsor household.submit evidence of assets that meet the standard listed below or obtain a joint sponsor

*asset must equal the difference for applicants filing as orphans , a spouse, or child of an active duty military member

*asset must equal three times the difference for a spouse or child of a united states citizen

*asset must equal five times the difference for all others

Evidence of assets include

*bank statement covering the last 12 month or a statement from an officer of the bank

*evidence of ownership and value stock bonds and certificate of deposit

*evidence of ownership a recent licensed appraisal or county taX assessment.

please can anyone help me tell me what specifically they are asking for. When submitting my application I included the I 864 along with my jointly filed tax return.we are a family of 3 which include my husband our 11 month old and me.

Did his income meet the 125% poverty level for a family of three? If your income was included on the tax return was it legal income and is it continuing?

Assets can be any property you own such as home, stocks, bonds, etc. just as the RFE states. Your assets must equal three times the difference between the income and the 125% poverty level for a family of three.

If you could be more specific with the question it would help get answers.

we are actually 4 because he put his younger brother as a dependant on his last year tax return. so we are four and i believe it 30000$. I know at this point i need to find a joint sponsor i talked to my brother and he is willing to be the sponsor he only made around 26000 last year too. but now my question is : is it possible for my brother to sponsor me only and my husband the rest of the family(even though i am the only one applying for an adjustment of status).

Your brother would be sponsoring you and himself as well as anyone else in his household. Your husband would still have to fill out an I864.
