Correct. A victim's name will not be released until the family has been notified. Chances are the copilot family has not yet been notified which would justify his/her name being withheld.

If that should be the case it's quite possibly stemmed in tact and respect, which as you point out is common practice in France.

Yes, the families will all be notified before there is any release of names to the PUBLIC. Keep in mind that this crash happened in France, where political correctness takes precedence over just about everything else. To be sure, the press will not know the victims before all the victims.

In this case, the names of all crew including the pilot are known. However, the copilot name has NOT been released. That's the point.

Folks on this site post and comment on all manner of things, some informed, some uninformed, others just endless backslapping. Regardless of your obvious displeasure of commentary on this flight, and whether or not it's accurate, on point, off point, or just plain aggravates you, your point is registered and disregarded. Why, because I can, and I will comment, especially when I see evidence that points in a direction.

As for Mooslims [your spelling], that's your interjection. As for why officials have not released the copilot name, well, that's not only my interjection, but virtually every news station out there is wondering the reason for it. His or her name may be mister magoo, or even perhaps hillary's server. While you play the pretentious journalist, I will continue on playing annoying poster.

Really? Quick look over at CNN says:

The people on board

The captain of Flight 9525 had flown for Germanwings for more than 10 years and had more than 6,000 flight hours on the aircraft model, according to the airline. Germanwings hasn't released details about the five other crew members.

And they won't until their families are notified and provided with proper counsel. That's the standard procedure in these cases and has been so for decades.

They must all be Mooslims then, eh?

I guess...

And they won't until their families are notified and provided with proper counsel. That's the standard procedure in these cases and has been so for decades.

But there must be some conspiracy based on the false premise presented here that the passenger list and details of all but one crew members have been made public.

I think it's far worse and broader than that.

They have released the name of some 127 victims, but so far they have declined to release information about their religious affiliation and motive... Something is afoot...

They've released names of those where next of kin could be identified and contacted. They will not release names where that isn't the case. As you stated earlier, that's standard operating procedure. Only the deluded will make an effort to sense something sinister in that. smh

The sensational behavior of liberal minds is ever-so predictable as to spend more time trying to deflect, than actually discussing the possibilities. At this moment, French authorities have confirmed that they have full voice data extracted from the flight VOICE recorder. This means the voices of the captain, co-pilot and anyone else in the cockpit are there. There appear to be four different microphones that support the flight voice recorder, which also enable recording any subtle sounds that may have emerged.

The casing of the flight DATA recorder has also been found, but the contents appear to have been scattered in the wreckage. However, they may still be able to extract data from any broken contents, the extent of which is hard to know. For now, the spackling of left wing whacky postings is amusing, but just plain stupid.

I'm not sure this is directed at me, but if that should be the case, I ask that you please remove my post along with others you deem equally offensive.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/11491587/Airbus-A320-crashes-in-French-Alps-with-148-people-on-board-live.html

At this time, we can confirm the deaths of two US citizens. We are in contact with family members and we extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the 150 people on board.

We are continuing to review our records to determine whether any other US citizens might have been on board the flight.

We are not releasing the names at this time out of respect for the family.
