It will help yes but not everyone can go every year to visit i know some countries they might question that but the philippines is not that strict as long as thry got good proof of thier relationship

My husband paid a lawyer and the firm did nothing but take his money and then ignore our calls or emails. If you have a simple case I would advise against it, but in the end it is your decision. Maybe you luck out and find a great lawyer.

For many people the hardest part could be many different things. For me is the waiting. For others, it might be the expenses and fees.

About the need for your husband to visit you, if you are able to prove a bona fide marriage (ongoing relationship, joint finances, property, etc.), I believe you should not have a problem. But that would be nice if he could.. I would not discourage that!

a k-1 is totally different. They are married and there is no requirement when they last saw each other.

If your case is complicated, and possible ""red flags"" then I would get the attorney.

If your case is rather common, then there is enough information here on this web site, to file your own paper work, and people here will help you, just use the guides, and follow each step, and double check everything you do, and keep two copies of everything you file.
