I see, you want details. There are plenty of videos online that you can find where folks video assaults and post them like a badge of honor. However, there is a class of people who have the common sense to try not to inflame a situation. I'm not one of those people. I don't like the reverse racism that is happening in the world today, and America seems to be germinating and growing it as if it was okay. It's not okay.

I came away with similar thoughts s Val erie - I recently saw an older guy having a yelling contest with a young teen at a skateboard park. It does not make it an anti-Semitic act if the teen was half Jewish and wearing a religious symbol. It may very well have been exactly what Micheal Douglass thought but the details are left out which leaves me thinking about things that happened to me when I was young and how I may have interpreted them had I been Jewish or Black or female or whatever...

I don't believe it.. Prove it to me and I still won't believe it. -Ford Prefect

I wait for the day when Danno or whoever this sock puppet actually is that started this thread and countless others like it bemoans the hurt feelings of Muslims in Europe. They see election related signs like these all over the continent - a continent that they actually call home. I bet this sort of thing makes them all warm and fuzzy. But hey, they're not really people, right?

speaking of less trophies - i just read the entire op ed and i don't really get what the big deal is. i don't really know how many times my kid's been yelled at by some random stranger at the pool. it's kind of normal. why doesn't michael douglas tell us what the man at the pool said, exactly. how does he know that the guy was treating his son differently because of his necklace?

I agree but god forbid someone tell Oprah she might not could afford a hat

oh, so his son was called names? i didn't see that in the piece. that's why i commented it would be nice to know how michael douglas reached the conclusion that his son had experienced anti-semitism.

again, i only said i wanted to know specifically what was said. that's it.

now go make a don lemon/trinidad james thread already.

i want details on what the man said to michael d's kid. do you have those details? doesn't seem like it.

Please, like pornography, one knows it when one sees it.

And they almost never explicitly say what was said in alleged anti-black acts - they almost never print that "N" word, for example. So your repetitive cry for "information" falls hollow and you are minimizing what happened to a victim.

The only "sock puppets" on this thread are those lemmings that "+ 1'd" Val's repetitive, and invalid, points.

In all fairness, antisemitism is one and the same regardless of its object - there are many who hate Jews, Arabs and Persians alike; they are non discriminating in their bigotry - pun intended.

Historically Jews and Muslims have been persecuted and ostracized across Europe throughout the centuries.

That's because you mitigate your experience with a rational mind. You would have had a much different experience had you simply indulged in knee-jerk reaction or posted op-eds in cyberspace without having read and understood them completely.

invalid point? wanting to know what exactly the man said? please.

if a black celebrity wrote this same op ed and told about his child experiencing racism with the same amount of info as michael d provided you'd accept that racism was experienced or would you question it? you're full of it.

Permit me use your tactic of constant questions. What about the incident makes you think Douglas's child did NOT experience racism?

Perhaps it's because Kanye West witnessed the young man performing a lip sync of Shake, Shake, Shake in public.

i'm not saying if he did or didn't. i'm saying that michael douglas didn't specify what in fact was said that lead him to believe that his son experienced antisemitism. and he should have.

I'd say it really isn't. Keeping your metaphor on the lighter side, I'd say racism, discrimination and other similar ailments are like those pesky tags, sewn on t-shirts, that rub against your obliques when you wear them. The tags are hidden and all the same they make their presence known. Many people leave them there and get used to their irritating presence or ignore them, while others will take scissors and surgically remove them. The point being, the tags are always there, they look like they belong but they don't and just like the nuisance they are they must be removed and discarded.

It's sad but the way the world is discrimination and racism is part of the fabric of society.
