I tried to make it look like I didn't care, but I did contact both my senator and congressman, two weeks ago. No response yet.

I don't expect one living in NYC. The volumes of letters they must receive a day must be overwhelming.

I'm going to the Dominican Republic in a month to find an apartment and make living arrangements. I'll stop at the embassy and see if I can get any notice.

I've also contacted the Dominican Embassy here in NY, but they said they don't handle, and have no communications in regards to cases for the US Embassy there.

My fiance has not been able to get an appointment at the Embassy in Santo Domingo at all to make an inquiry in person.

I've been trying.

This whole process had made me into a monster. Every time I see someone get approved I hope they fail. I was trying to be as friendly and helpful as much as I could in the beginning, and now have nothing but hate in me. If I weren't financially independent I probably would have jumped off a building or something...

I don't see life there being that bad. I am young, and will buy a house and live a retirement life. It just sucks because I wanted my fiance to see what life is like outside of that island.

Not sure who you contacted at your congressman and senators office, but when I contacted my congressman, I went straight to the case manager person. She responded in less than an hour. If you just emailed the contact us form, I'd implore you to try to find an actual immigration liaison or case manager staffer and contact them directly. My congressman had his staffs names, descriptions and contact info on his website. Or take the time and go down to your congressmans local office and speak to someone.

I'm stuck at TSC so I understand feeling helpless. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better.

I contacted by email, and mailed letters via certified mail.

No response from one, and automated response saying that I should rest assured that someone has read my email.

That's it.

Now it's time to follow up with another email, try calling their office directly, and follow them on Facebook and you can let them know there you have been waiting for two weeks for a response. Keep at it! Once you get in contact with a congressmen/senator you will need to sign a release form and send it back to them so they can make inquiries on your behalf so there are more steps coming up, hang in there. It's frustrating but must be done to get the answers you deserve.

WTH ? Get your ### together and stop acting like a baby. Grow up. CALL the senator's office and ASK to be connected to an immigration aid.

If one office doesn't respond then call another. Period.

For you to say hoping everyone that gets approved will fail is ridiculous, it is people here that got approved that are helping you !!!!!!!

I was able to help myself and, in one business day, was able to get it from READY for interview to ISSUED.

I'll write up how I did it and make a new thread in general discussion - I will link the thread here.

Sometime late tonight I will post it - all it took was a single email.

The traveldocs website is still not working for me, but it looks "normalish" now and is not asking me to schedule an interview anymore.

Sorry for being an ###, but I lost my mind there for a bit.

Both senators in your state do handle immigration according to their web site. I have never heard a senator telling someone they don't handle

immigration matters.

Heh, we didn't even get that much. When we were waiting for an invoice from NVC, we tried contacting one of our representatives, but got no response to this day. It was almost a year ago.

I must have found the wrong information then - I contacted Senator Jeffrey Klein, after I looked him up. Still nice they contacted me.

Hopefully soon. It changed to issued this morning - I contacted them Thursday night. Friday I believe they were closed for Semana Santa.
