I sure hope you never get behind me at a red ligth then . I tend to wait until there is a big opening or the light turns green. Of course my pet peeve is when someone stops at a yield sign for a lane that has a sign that says it continues.

I think it's dangerous to turn into a lane that has a green light for oncoming traffic.

It isn't dangerous to do so when that lane is empty. I also honk at people unwilling to take a right on a red.

yes and it may raise the insurance next time you renew. I suggest paying it asap. Fyi the fee will go to the owner of the car.

They don't go onto the driver's record (fyi it's NLR).

I'm not sure about the premiums which is why I used the word "may".

If they don't go onto your record, there's no way insurance companies will find out; therefore, premiums won't go up because of that. That's my understanding.

Unless a light specifically states that there is no right turn on a red (or is into a one way), you can ALWAYS turn right on a red if there is an opening.
