Hey everyone,

Do you know how long the SA PCC is valid for - specifically when it comes to how the US Consolute will view it?

Mine was sent to the NVC about 5 months ago, so if it's only valid for 6 months do I need a new one for my interview? (This is for a Spousal Visa btw)

Thanks

Greg

It's valid for a year, if it's 6months old or less, you qualify for a renewal. mine never showed how long it was valid for but the SAPS does say they're valid for a year. but still better to get a new one while you still have time.

Thanks, do you mean I can just leave it as is or do I actually have to renew it for another 6 months? It was sent to the NVC last year (the original).

LOL you edited your reply while I was replying... I'll get a new one to be safe. After all this time the last thing I need is a denial.

heheh sorry, my bad. here's what the SAPS website says "A Police Clearance Certificate can be reissued within six months of the original application yet an additional cost of R96-00 will be required. After six months of the date of the original application a new application must be submitted." yes better safe than sorry, but they wouldn't deny you for not having a PCC, they'd just put you on AP which is another delay so definitely better to get new one now just one last thing to worry about.

Thanks, I'll get a new one. I used an agency last time, it was quick.

Off topic: The unabridged birth certificate is a NIGHTMARE to get from Home Affairs, find an agent to assist.

What agency did you use for e clearance and how long did it take. My fiancé submitted one through the saps but if an agency is quicker I want to try that too!
