How to know if the case is gone to nvc

You are a K-1 so if you sent your packet 3 in at NVC you may not get packet 4. I didn't get one. You should be able to schedule your interview online now and pay the interview fee.

Call the NVC they will give you your case number to track your file to the embassy.

The total amount of days from the date I mailed in our K1 Visa application to the day my fiancé stepped foot into the USA:

1 year, 3 months and 8 days.

The amount of days from the date we mailed in our AOS to the date everything was approved (after 3 RFEs):

7 months & 5 days

Which makes our journey a total of:

2 years, 3 months, and 8 days

We just got our NOA 2 last week.. I was wondering how are we supposed to know if the case has been transfered to NVC.

NOA 2 is the approval by USCIS. Cases are bundled in groups then sent to NVC. These cases may pause in the NVC mail room until they are scanned into the NVC system where they receive the new NVC number.

If you were to call too soon NVC would tell you they don't have the case because its not in their system.

Ours had a case number within a week, so this would be a good time to start calling. The line is always busy and you may have to try 50x a day, and that's not an exaggeration. Best of luck!
