I received the following PDF (3 images attached) from the NVC today in an email titled "BGTXXXXXXXXXX (CHECKLIST COVER LETTER)". I am trying to determine if this requires any documents to be re-sent to the NVC (60 more day wait), or if they are just telling us what we need to bring to the interview.

The first item (FINANCIAL EVIDENCE) is fine, I expected it. We are going on assets only and we have more than enough.

The second item is where I'm confused because we already sent the pasado judicial. Are they just saying, make sure you bring it with you to the interview, or, mail it again?

(I will call NVC tomorrow morning but also wanted to post this for feedback and future info for others).

Confusing, I would definitely call and ask. You should ask for a supervisor review if you already submitted the police certificate and they're asking for it again.

I think it's a checklist :( I'm afraid they want you to mail the copy and bring the original to the interview.

We already mailed a copy, an apostilled copy at that. Does this mean they lost it?

OK, I will do at 7am tomorrow morning. To ask for a supervisor review...I just ask to speak to a supervisor? Sorry, I searched the forums but didn't find any official procedure.

Waooo sorry.. it is a checklist. Call to confirm or ask them if you could take it to the interview.

Ugh I should have known. So many "lost" documents I've read about on these message boards :(

They do this all the time, and they used to lose originals!

I would ask to speak to a supervisor, and ask the supervisor about a supervisor review, sorry I'm not the best to give advice, but I would speak to a supervisor.

If anyone else has any advice, please let us know.

Best of luck to you, please post back after you call.

I'm not actually sure because I never had to do this, but I imagine they're used to it by now and asking for a supervisor should do the trick. In any case I would start by talking to the rep that picks up the phone and insisting (being very clear) that you sent the certificate with the IV package (did you keep copies of what you sent?). Maybe they will look into it for you. If you get a bad/rude rep I guess you can just end the call and try again with someone later. Good luck!

Because you are using assets you got a checklist (this is normal) but the case will be forward to embassy. For court cert it says "app who failed bring cert and English transl. to the embassy......". To me it seems like you have to bring your court cert and English translation to the interview.

Call NVC and ask for interpretation of this checklist. Call twice to be sure. Also you can ask to speak with supervisor.

In my opinion this is CC.

Are these 3 the only pages you received? When I got a checklist, it was 5 pages. The first 3 pages looked similar to what you have but it was on the 5th page that actual specific items were listed with "x"s by them that I needed to correct.

If you don't have another page like that, I would think this is a false checklist.

Also, did you send the supporting evidence for your assets to NVC? We are using assets only and we sent the supporting evidence along with the I-864 and we'll be bringing updated evidence (more recent bank statements) to the interview. So maybe they want you to send evidence of the assets?

I thought the same, but I called this morning and the rep (Tyler, very friendly and helpful) said my file indicates that the police certificate is missing. I know we sent an apostilled copy with English translation, because of course we made copies of the IV package. I didn't even have to ask, he said if I already sent it, he would mark it for supervisor review and did so immediately.

So that's where we are :( Supervisor review, which he said could take up to 42 days but usually takes less. Better than 60 I guess. Should I send the certificate again in case they really lost it, or will that cause a delay?

One other note...I find it strange that the reps don't have copies of the emails and checklist documents that are sent to us. I had to read him what it said. He just had it marked in their system that the police certificate wasn't "complete."
