How will the beneficiary receive the next action after NOA2?

Hi,
I am a U.S Citizen and applied i-130 for my spouse, who is in Pakistan. After about 5 months, the i-130 was approved and I just received my NOA2. It says that they have sent the "... Original visa petition to the NVC...". Also it says that "The NVC will contact the person for whom you are petitioning (beneficiary) concerning further immigrant visa processing steps."

I want to know that will they mail a letter to the beneficiary? and will they require the beneficiary to sign at receiving the letter by showing their id card? Or will they only require the signature of the recipient? Or will they just leave the letter in the mail?

Please if you fellows have received this letter, then how did you receive it? If you have experience with the above questions, please share it and take away my worries. I am asking because then the beneficiary will wait in the house when it is time for the mail to come, otherwise, the beneficiary can feel safe thinking that she will pick it up from the mailbox.

Thanks

just an FYI, call them, they will report it and try to have it pick up the pace, because 5 months is the average and I talked to them in the last week of Feb,2015, they said that they were currently working on August 16, 2014's applications.

Good luck to you, I know it is very worrisome.

After receipt of case from USCIS, NVC usually takes two months appx. to contact petitioner and beneficiary both via e mail as well as postal services. They however send it through regular mail (not courier) so there are chances of missing it but petitioner will definitely receive email. if you do not receive letter from NVC past 60 days you can contact them over telephone.

Do not wait for letter from NVC. After a couple weeks start calling NVC to see if they have your case. Then call again for case number. You will be calling NVC more then you did the USCIS. my wife got a letter 2 months after NVC had our case. we had already done a lot of steps in the process if we would of waited for the letter we would wasted a lot of extra time

NVC communication is all by email. Call them and make sure they have correct email addresses on file for both petitioner and beneficiary. The Case Complete and Interview Letter we received from NVC were all by email and were sent to all email addresses we had put on their file.

So they will mail the petitioner something like that a mail has been sent to the beneficiary?

Thanks

Thanks

If this is true, then it may be a relief, don't have to worry about if I missed the mailman or not. And like j&ana mentioned above, I need to call. So, just making sure, do I call this number: (603) 334-0700?

Thanks

that is the only number to call. It will be busy so you have to keep dialing until you get an open line then be prepared to be on hold for 55 minutes.
