Our AOS/IV documents were received on Feb 3rd and, for the first time in the whole process, it was completed in less time than they said. We received confirmation yesterday AM (March 10th) that we will be notified as soon as the interview is scheduled.

Does anyone know the approx time between getting this notification and the interview date...Montreal Embassy.

Thanks

After the choice of agent was submitted.. then the AOS fee became Available to pay.. I had to actually call NVC to ask why was it taking so long for the IV fee is post so it can be paid.. during the call the agent said he saw the choice of agent was complete but it WAS NOT posted. I was told check back on tommorow. Sure enough the IV fee was posted so I can pay the fee. After I paid the IV fee then the ds 260 was posted so it can be completed online

From reading VJ posts,I did nit understand how i would be able to submit both packets as suggested. And I did call but was told to wait. Actually I would not have the document cover sheet which is different for the two packages ( AOS and IV)if I submitted prior to paying the IV fee.

My hold up with the IV package was the police certificate. Where my husband lives is a full day of travel to get to the capital TEGUS to request the police record. Plus he was told it would take 8 days to have the record in hand. I think that's crazy. I wanted to submit the IV package without the police record and explain the hardship.

Would NVC allow me to have the police record for the interview only instead of with the IV package.. ??

So my fear was we would have another set back... if the police record was not included.

I don't get how it was looked at soo fast. How many times did you call them?

Didn't call them. NVC has had our case since October but there were many delays since then. Problems with their computer payment forced us to send the IV payment as a check. Check wasn't processing because of more computer problems. So we then submitted payment electronically, after their online payment issues were resolved. After payment finally processed (BTW, we have actually paid IV twice. Will try to get it back AFTER I actually get green card.) we send the AOS and IV paperwork, which was received Feb. 3rd. Notified it would be 60 days or more to process that.

We then, luckily, received notification that it was done March 10th...And then even better news, the next day, that interview was scheduled for April 16th. Feel very lucky to have this last part done so quickly.

All I can figure is that our lawyer was very very organized with what she sent originally and the AOS, IV and supporting documents...originals, copies all tabbed and easy to review.

Very little that I HAVE to bring to the interview...of course I will still bring additional copies of everything.

FYI we submitted application OCTOBER 24, 2013!!!! Three service requests and a congressional inquiry with USCIS, a million calls to NVC before we sent supporting docs. No problems with ANYTHING on our part, I guess just bad luck.

Very happy now that it will all be over soon.

Anyone have info on how long between interview and receiving passport with visa???
