My uncle recently got a email stating that he was approved for nvc affidavit of support ..how long do they usually take to send for visa interview for ir1 category

What of the IV package was that accepted? His DS-260? Does he have Case Complete? There more then just Affidavit of support involved.

It says the documents that was needed have been submitted we will contact u when we get a visa appointment

OK, so your uncle received his (CC) Case Complete email. He should receive his Interview Letter within 4-6 weeks. I got my interview letter (via email) just this week, which was 6 weeks after the CC email.

ask your uncle to email that letter to you, as I think it's a 'case complete' email, not any 'nvc approval' email.

Dear Sir/Madam, All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified. The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa. Yes it's a case complete email. NVC will forward the petition and any documents your uncle and petitioner submitted to the Kingston Embassy for his interview. See my post above.

My interview is on April 28. so almost 2 months from the day you get the Interview letter.

He been filing from feb of 2013 the last time sent the nvc paper work was in October of last yr
