So then my question becomes, when can i select my interview date?

This is for K-1 Fiancee at Mumbai consulate.

I received NVC letter dated March 23, 2015 that case is being sent to USA Consulate in Mumbai but I have not received any update since.

The NVC Case status is "Ready"
I submitted DS-160
I selected Document Delivery location (Hyderabad)

I'm planning on making EFT payment today

Simple question: Do I need to wait for the Mumbai Consulate to contact us in Hyderabad, or do we continue by making payment and scheduling the Consulate Interview via the "usatravel" website where I selected the Document Delivery location?

Sorry for the late reply, but from what I have read I believe you go ahead and make your payment and schedule your appointment. I don't believe the Mumbai consulate will contact you, you need to go ahead and schedule so you can then take that letter confirmation to your medical.

Hello...

May be I'm the next for interview. Mine is next week.

Everything is ready as stated in interview letter and our case is straightforward but still getting so nervous day by day!

well I think if visa is approved you'lyou'll get passport in 5-6 working days.

actually i guess "I" am up next

fiancee is in Mumbai at the moment and just got SMS that Fingerprint is completed!

Appointment was for 8:30am

They got there around 1 hour earlier 7:30am

Then I got an SMS around 9:00am that fingerprint visit was completed.

Interview is tomorrow morning

Keeping fingers crossed, and hoping that since Friday is May 1st Labor Day holiday, folks will be in good "holiday/long_weekend" mood.

The only things they checked at fingerprints was the

DS-160 Confirmation Letter

Printout of Appointment Confirmation from the appointment booked online

and one other thing, i forgot.

One "hiccup" was that they said the DS-160 Confirmation had the first and last name wrong

It is on DS-160 confirmation as " LAST, FIRST" (with the comma).

They said since Indian Passport has it in "FIRST LAST" , that DS-160 should be in same sequence.

They proceeded to 'fix it' by printing one out with "FIRST LAST" for the DS-160 confirmation and providing to us (odd).

I advised to keep both versions (ours and theirs) tomorrow just in case.

Anyway, that's the latest

Hang in there

And Hope for the best.

Sorry guys, been a little busy the past few days, so my husband went for his fingerprints on the 26th in mumbai, super fast was done in 10 mins. He had his interview on Monday the 27th at 7:30 am. (india time) & was in and out within two hours. We didn't have any red flags on our case, but for whatever reason the Officer who interviewed him insisted on focusing the whole interview on my family. He asked a ton of questions about my parents, and about my brother. lol. Weird, guess he just wanted to know how much my husband knew about my family.

One big thing that I wanted to make sure I came in here and posted was that I had sent my husband a new AoS because I needed to add/update my most recent tax year (2014) as when I sent to NVC 2014 wasn't finished yet and I hadn't filed my taxes yet. BUT the officer didn't even ask for a new AoS, I guess cause I was well above the minimum but still, for anyone who was curious about that. & yes my husband was approved I was so happy and excited and all the worries were just lifted off my shoulders!!

For those of you wondering how many days it takes for you to receive your visa after approval my husband was gonna pick his up in mumbai and not have it mailed to his house (which is the quickest way to get the passport back) His passport was ready with his visa the next day around 4pm. So I can't say how long it takes for them to mail it to some other locations for pick ups, but if you pick it up in Mumbai and you have the time to stay after the interview then that will be the fastest way for you guys!

I'll write a detail review of the consulate once my husband gets here and I can ask him every little detail! lol. Right now hes busy packing and doing last minute things so we haven't had a deep discussion about every thing that happened at the consulate. Less than two weeks for me!!

Good luck to everyone who has interviews coming up in the next few weeks!! Go over possible questions and make sure your spouse knows your family history in case the officer does what he did with my husband lol.

Thanks so much for sharing! my husband is having his interview in Mumbai on the 18th of May and this helps a lot. I'm really excited over the fact that he was able to pick up his visa the next day! My husband chose this option as well. I'll be going over to support and I wish they'd let me in but Mumbai won't allow it, so he'll be taking my passport inside with him. I'm praying I'm spending the rest of my time with him there helping him pack for the big move!

WooHoo!!!!

She got her visa approved today!!!

Thank the good Lord! Hallelujah

Interview was for 9am, she arrived around 7:30. They looked at her Interview Confirmation letter and said too early, to wait until they announce that timeslot.

At 8am she went again and they asked her to stand in line at this time.

Few minutes later, a guy came out asking for any K-1, there were 5, and to follow him inside.

Document check was done - all good.

Token was given.

1 hour later they called her and asked for I-134

Then later she was called by the American male interviewer.

Short list of questions:

- your name

- his name

- when did you meet before engagement

- tell me about it: listed key people that were there, when it happened, where

- said ok, you're approved :)

Was out of there by 11am

CEAC site shows updated "READY" with today's date (prior to that it showed yesterday's for interview"

Passport status on this site shows "At US Consulate" http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-niv-passporttrack.asp

Thanks everyone and I hope and pray the same easy result for all of you!!!

Hope someone can answer my questions

I'm sending my documents to my hubby tomorrow

These are the documents I'm sending to my hubby

* AOS (updated)

* Tax transcript 2014

* Employment Letter & Pay stubs

* AOS (NVC already sent those docs to embassy)

* tax transcripts 2013,2012,2011

* Employment Letter & Pay stubs

I'm also sending i130 documents (copies only)

Should I send tax returns too or tax transcripts are fine?

Do I have to notarized any of my documents like passport, naturalization?

Please if i'm missing anything please let me know too..

On P4 they basically wants hubby's civil docs original and copies..

I know embassy didn't requires these documents..But I don't want to get ding on anything..

Answers are appreciated..

Lets begin our HAPPY MONTH MAY :):goofy::goofy::goofy:

Thanks so much for sharing! my husband is having his interview in Mumbai on the 18th of May and this helps a lot. I'm really excited over the fact that he was able to pick up his visa the next day! My husband chose this option as well. I'll be going over to support and I wish they'd let me in but Mumbai won't allow it, so he'll be taking my passport inside with him. I'm praying I'm spending the rest of my time with him there helping him pack for the big move!

They say they won't allow anyone inside with your spouse but if I were you I would definitely go up there with him & ask to go inside for his interview because just recently I had some extended family whose spouses had interviews in March/April & both citizens from a here were able to go inside for the interview. So I know they say we can't, but I believe it wouldn't hurt to ask when you go! Anyway, good luck to both of you and I hope you will be helping him pack & then coming back to the U.S. Together to start your new lives! :) let us know what happens!
