Hello,

I need to know if someone had any experience like ours before. We went thru Administrative Processing for over two months. Finally, last February 23rd the visa status shows as issued, nevertheless when my fiance went to pick it up theysaid it wasn't ready yet. I called and was informed that the visa has been printed but still has to undergo additional processing.

Does anybody had an experience like this before with the K1 visa in Cuba? No need to say we are worried and super anxious!

if the visa status says issued, i think you will be okay...it may just take a little extra time to get it. i've never heard of a visa needing "additional processing" after it was issued but i heard a lot of other craziness from the interests section office employees while my husband (then fiance) and i were trying to get his visa. we were also were in AP after our K1 interview and it took several months to actually get the visa. i'd suggest that you keep calling/emailing them asking when it will be ready. i hope you get the visa soon!

The visa status showing as issued is a good sign. But it is strange that the visa is not ready yet. But I hope you guys will be alright. I have the worst experience with K1 at the interest section. At the interview everything went well and no document was missing, but at the end of the interview they told my fiance they will call him in two weeks to get his visa, when my fiance went back they took passport and told him to go back in a week. When he went back a week later they returned his passport and said they will call him back. The website status was saying READY for interview all the time. They never call as back or got formal denial from the Interest Section or they never gave us back the original civil documents of my fiance at the time. Two months later, finally I had to involve the congressman and they respond back to him saying we didn't prove bona fide relationship and they will renter the petition back to USCIS. We where not on AP or we didn't get denial letter. Now we are married and going through CR-1 processes again. It is sad to see how they play with people life. But I know at the end all will work out, never give up and be patient.

Thanks to all of you for the support. On Monday there will be 10 working days since the date the visa had status Issued at the CEAC website (February 23rd). I will be calling on Tuesday, March 10th to find out what is going on. I have checked all timelines in this site for Cuba and no one had a visa in status Issued for such a long time without receiving it. We were on administrative review since December 19th. I sent the initial paperwork to Texas Service Center on March 24th and our SCR number was given on March 30st.

In 24 more days we would have been for a whole year in this process. I don't think this is the usual scenario for Cuba.

OK, today was the day, Finally we got the visa!!!!

I called the interest section yesterday (03/10/2015) and asked to speak to a Consular Section Officer. I received a very good attention from the officer. She went personally to verify that the visa and the envelope were ready and available to be picked up. She could not give a reason as of why it took from February 23rd to March 11th for the package to be ready. Any ways my fiance was able to pick up his visa today. We feel very relieved.

Thanks to you all for the support!!!
