You can go and come back, but you have to maintain residency (google it) so you don't loose the GC.

There is a degree of fudge, but very much fact specific, the crucial issue is her to petition you before you hit 21.

Do you have education to complete, is that what you had in mind?

Kzielu - thanks for the reply , I have had a look and this and just wanted to clarify.

So I go stay living in the uk and visit the US with 1-2 years , 1 year I just have to show my green card and then after that I have to require a re entry permit ?

Boiler - yeah I would like to get a few qualifications before moving over to the US as I can fund them at them moment

Takes a year say normally, probably add another 6 months if you slow it down and then another 6 months to use it and you have 2 years right there.
