Hi all - we started in London in late September and my wife arrived a few days ago - big sigh of relief!

I understand she should receive her Social Security card within 3 weeks as we requested this on her DS-260. I understand she should get the green card in 5-6 months.

My question is - can she use her visa number for bank account set up etc until she receives her SSN and her green card?

You might have to go to a Social Security office and apply in person. That DS-260 request doesn't always pan out for everybody.

Ask at the bank what they require. They aren't all the same. She actually has an I-551 stamp in her passport that serves the same purpose of having the physical greencard in her possession.
