Thanks for doing your part. We have a choice to sit and wait or at least do something about it .. However negligible it may seem. I hope everyone who's affected do the same and more. Maybe someone will hear us. Never know till we try.

Ps: Pl fil your timeline when you get a chance.

My math is looking at the numbers and is saying many TSC February filers will get NOA2's in July 2015. Numbers don't lie. The number of cases drop after the September filers are through the system..

K-1 Journey

2/27/2015: Sent I-129F to Black Hole in Texas:
3/13/2015 NOA1 Received by snail mail:

9/1/2015: NVC Received NOA2 Package and have assigned a Case Number!

10/22/2015 K1 Visa in hand. Son's K2 visa only valid for 6 months (W-T-F-?) Thought good for 1 year. Inquire at consulate and told visa good only as long as the medical which is 6 months K2 VISAS NOT GOOD FOR 1 YEAR AS ADVERTISED ON DOS WEBSITE!
10/29/2015 POE Chicago; Easiest pass through for Linh in her 4 previous entries.
11/2/2015: Not tuned in enough to Social Security not to pick "the first day of the month" to try to get signed up. Read VJ advice, it's spot on, we had a processor who knew K1. We were in the SAVE database in 3 days so it was easy after a 2 hour wait.

Called the President at (202) 456-1111 and left a comment :help: about TSC backlog with a nice lady at the other end. She promised that she would 'definitely' relay the message to our President. I hope she does as promised. I know, i'm optimistic but it's worth a try.

Next up, i'm planning on writing a letter too. Chances that i might be read are slim but..it's worth a try. I hope everyone who is going thru this does this and rattle some cages so we are heard and maybe..just maybe, some one will take action.

Thank you so much for what you are doing!! Maybe it would be good to make a thread about this that as many people as possible who is stuck in TSC could call or/ and write!!!!

Now I'm a January 2015 filer, but my prediction (or thought) is that once we get to June maybe the TSC will realize and get the notion: "Wow! We're halfway through 2015 already...we better get to 2015 petitions quick to make ourselves look better since we're still on 2014!"

Who knows... being beginning of the year filers may work to our advantage... Who knows though?

Desi: I have been using for my analysis the data within the Visa Journey Database. My assumption is that the data within it is representative of the whole population of 129F filers. That is if 20% of all filers join the VisaJourney timeline database, that number is fairly constant. My study of the data shows that the TSC got crunched in the first quarter of 2014 with a large number of applications. This number remained constant through Sept 2014 then it drops way down to Jan 2015 and February 2015 where there are about 60% of the applications as in Sept 2014.

TSC got in a hole in 2014 and sent a number of applications to CSC in April and May 2014 to lessen the backlog. However with the rate of incoming filers staying high in the June to Sept 2014 time frame, the net result is this backlog we see today. The reason why there is not another shift from TSC to CSC is because they(USCIS) know they will make up ground (assuming TSC processes at the same rate which I estimate to be about 150 VJ 129F per month right now) as they process the October to March 2015 applications.

This is my guess as to what is going on and if we see an acceleration in the shortening of the days from NOA1 to NOA2 in 45-60 days, then my analysis is spot on.

That's neat, thanks!

It's based on the assumption that VJ members join around the time of their NOA1, though, right? I wonder how accurate that assumption is, since I figure some people (no idea on percentage) might stumble upon the site weeks or months after their NOA1 when they start wondering why the wait is so long. Or people who lurk without an account while checking the guides, and make an account later. I guess what I'm saying is that 4-5 months from now, there may be a lot more January and February filer timelines available, so that the numbers between August '14 and January '15 wouldn't be that different.

Would there be a way to account for that in your comparison? Like when you compare the number of applicants between August and January, you could weed out the August filers whose accounts were created more than a month after their NOA1? That might be a more representative sample to compare January with. But maybe you already considered this? I'm just curious as to whether it would have an effect.

Either way, I'm definitely going to cross my fingers that you are right!

We probably wouldn't know the exact no. Of applicants but your guesstimate based on trend analysis is spot on. I'll pray that all of us get thru this quickly and unite with our loved ones. Thanks for your answer, K & L.

That sounds amazing. I pray that your analysis is correct! May I ask what prior experience you have in data analysis? Is it just a personal hobby or do you actually have academic knowledge? You sound pretty knowledgable in the subject.

K&L - nice analysis and I really really hope it works out. But there is an assumption that workforce handling K1 is working at the same throughput all along. Just for giggles have you done a similar analysis for CSC? It may have some interesting patterns.

Not for K1 but I have generally seen movements in waves. It is almost like some type of petitions are ignored, suddenly they get attention and we see a rush of approvals. I hope we see an acceleration soon.

Charlie: I am just a dumb engineer who is a CEO of a company so I love numbers and data.

Mad: I have been tracking that for a month or so. About 85-90% sign up within 30 days of NOA1. I am surprised that after 60 days of the NOA1, few applications come in. They do come in, but only increases the number by about 5-10% BUT its all relative. If a given month is low and only grows 10%. Its low.

It's real simple how I track it using Igors List. I input TSC and all Applications sorted by NOA1 date into his page. That gives me the total applications. I note that about 12% are what I call "greys" who are people for the most part gave up and don't post anymore after NOA1. So the NOA1 is never met by the NOA2 number.

Then I input TSC and NOA2 received and Igor's list gives a nice total for each month sorting out the non NOA2.

The numbers give me a picture by month of NOA1 and NOA2. I look at it every 5 days and lets me know where the work is being done and follow the trend. For example here is my last 3 data points in tracking.

March 6 March 11 March 16

NOA 1 Month NOA1 NOA 2 NOA 1 NOA 2 NOA 1 NOA 2

APR 14 226 175 226 175 226 175

MAY 14 186 155 186 155 187 156

By looking at the change in data you can see how many VJ applications are getting processed. My initial guess is that TSC is doing about 150 applications per month, but lately its been closer to 160.

If you know this rate of processing then you can look at the data and project when you think they will process yours. I am a March 2 NOA1 and VJ says I should get NOA2 in late September. I feel that August 11 is more in line with my data.

Igor has good data, however he is showing percentages in a graph and that is not as helpful as raw numbers and the rate of change over a period of time. That is what we all are looking for.... when will they get to me.

I hope this helps to show a simple way I am tracking this. It keeps me from going crazy while waiting for the NOA2 which IMHO is frankly like doing an in depth credit/employment check of data to move on to the Consulate and dig into the fiancée
