If that were to happen, it would take away the 'us' vs. 'them' mentality that fosters the D/R discourse. In addition I can think of half a dozen posters that would be unable to participate in this forum if there were the case. They would find themselves unable to understand a world without labels.

Yeah, no labels would mean having to use brainpower. For the ones that cannot figure it out without the labels, you probably shouldn't be voting anyway. I think simply being an American citizen is far too easy a pre-requisite to be able to vote, there really needs to be some sort of an IQ test.

While we're talking about disposing of the electoral college (good idea, by the way), let us put away with the Congressional election equivalent as well. Can you imagine a Congress where the majority of the popular vote actually results in a Congressional majority as well? It would be nice to have but it is not achievable with the current election system and the gerrymandering we have. We'll be ruled by a Congress that is elected by a minority of the population as we are and have been for some time now. And that Congress - representing a minority of the vote - acts like it has any more of a mandate than a President that has actually been elected by a clear majority? Delusional.

I like the 2 term limit. The longer one stays in power, more bureaucratic can build...

However, I wouldn't mind lengthening each term to 5 years.
