Finding a lawyer to sue a lawyer will be tricky and I doubt the sum involved would be of interest. Small claims court etc is a better way to go.

My Attorney made several mistakes on our case, costing us about 8 months of not moving, all the way up to the time of the interview, he gave us false information. I want to sue him for the fees charged. Do I sue him personally or can I go through the Bar Association to do this, will they help me? I have evidence of all of the times he messed up our case and gave false information.

You sue him or get a lawyer to represent you to sue him.

The Bar Association can refer you to a lawyer you can hire. It's not their function to help you file a lawsuit.

Thank you, would it be realistic to send him a request for the fees charged? With a detailed description of the evidence that I found that cost us 8 months extra time away, that will be forwarded to the BAR association if the fees are not refunded... of all of the mistakes and miscare..

Also, so I understand the BAR Association is only for disciplinary action? I don't want to be selfish and get a refund for my money by threatening the BAR association but I definately deserve the fees returned but I feel it is my obligation to let people know about the attorney as well... I am certain other people may not realize that he is not handling their cases with care.

I would certainly have a go, he might offer at least a partial refund.

I have decided to request a refund of the fees in whole. I am giving him 10 days to submit the fees back to me (is this a reasonable amount of time?) If fees are not submitted after the ten days, I will turn him over to the state and local bar and sue him for legal malpractice, also sue him for the time lost due to his mistakes. Does this sound like a realistic approach? Any advice?
