Hey there beautiful people!

Yesterday I finally got my case number from NVC and now I can move with the process. But as I was filling up DS-261 I got stuck at this part bellow by not knowing what address to put in.
post-194748-0-63386300-1424958433_thumb.jpg

The problem is that my wife lives with me in Brazil, but she still maintained a residence in U.S which one her moms lives in.

If I put her U.S address, will they mail letters that will be needed to be forward to Brazil by her mom later on or I should not be worried? Should I put my Brazilian address?

These officials mails will be required, to have in hands, later on at the interview and if it does can I just have a copy of it?

Let me rephrase, I am sorry if I am being confusing!

Any of these mails they will send to my address, there will be any information, that if I don't have, I will not going be able to move forward with the process?

I am asking that because my Brazilian address is more convenient for me but is not as reliable as U.S mailing system!

I would put Brazilian address if I was you. My husband (the USC) lives with me in Lithuania (Europe) while we are on the process. We did put our Lithuanian address everywhere (except the place in the USA where we intend to live). We also got a case # from the NVC recently and while choosing the agent I chose myself (Beneficiary) and gave them my Lithuanian address. It is so much convenient.

The only mail on a snail-mail we got was a Welcome Letter from the NVC which we keep safely as it is being asked to include with the packet to the NVC. As I understand there won't be too many of a mail for you from the NVC.

Thank you for clarifying! This Welcome Letter from NVC.. I will get this at what time? After paying the fees or this welcome letter is the one with my NVC case number?

The Welcome letter came on e-mail to my husband (petitioner) as an attachment. We just printed it out. It is 3 pages letter addressed to the "beneficiary" - me.

Page 1. Welcome letter, case#, IIN# and with the list of next steps on what to do further.

Page 2. Document Cover Sheet. Listed whet has to be included in our packet

Page 3. Information on How to Contact the NVC.

I was surprised we got it as when we called to the NVC few times they said "wait 32 days for case#" or "wait 42 days for your case#". So we stopped calling. One nice day it just dropped into an e-mail. We had included the Petitioner's e-mail address on a form 1145 that we sent to the USCIS. We never had a chance to give an e-mail address to the NVC, but apparently it wasn't needed.

AFTER ALL WHAT's ABOVE, we finally filed 261 and paid AOS fee of $120. Waiting to pay IV and the form 260 to be available. Gathering all documents to send by snail-mail to them.

To add something else: what ever official papers you have to get and have with you, it should come in time before your interview date is assigned. Don't worry.

Question: how did you get your Case#? On a phone? If you got it on a phone and you had a chance at the same time to give them your e-mail address (in our case we didn't even need it), this Welcome Letter must reach you soon too. There is nothing new for you, but I think you will need a Document Cover Sheet to place on top of your documents before sending them to the NVC.

Should I give them a call and let them know my e-mail address and ask them to send this cover sheet?

Sorry, I made a mistake on my post #4, saying that the Welcome letter from the NVC came by snail-mail. NO, it came by e-mail. My mistake and please forgive me. I wasn't able to correct my original post.

So far our official papers that came via regular mail (snail-mail) are the same as yours: NOA1 and NOA2 from the USCIS.

By giving your case# on a phone (or an e-mail) the NVC had to give you an IIN# too. You will need it. You probably got it as otherwise you wouldn't be able to file 261 on-line. Make sure you have it. At the same time when you talk to representative you should give them your e-mail addresses. As I said in our case we didn't need it, they found it in the USCIS packet.

Yes, if this Welcome Letter didn't arrive yet (on a e-mail), give them a call again and give them your e-mail addresses as they will contact the Petitioner and the Beneficiary too. Ask them about this Welcome letter, because I believe you will need a cover Sheet from it.

fbragasilva88, I just checked your timeline and found out that your I-130 went through the USCIS very quickly. Ours too. I believe it happened, because your USC spouse lives with you? Did you file from abroad? We filed from abroad and our case was auto expedited, it was a nice surprise :) We just couldn't bear living apart and my USC husband decided to stay with me in my home country while our visa is in process :)

Hmmm, I didn't get a RDJ# and have no clue what it is? All I know that you need a Case# and Invoice ID#. So you are good to go. You will get that Welcome letter before you ready to send your papers to the NVC. It was written on the Welcome Letter that you have to send the Cover Sheet on top of your documents. You still have time.

Ok that's perfect then, I will give them a call soon to ask about it. Thanks a lot for the help!!!

You are sincerely welcome :) Good luck!
