ah - so is birth certificate problem.

usually can get newly 'endorsed' certified copy in the county (not country) where he was born, for a small fee. If no where close to drive to get it, most county offices have mail in requests or order it online.

If he was born in the US then somehow he can get it sorted.

If he was born in Mexico the he will just be petitioning you to move there instead.

If his parents were naturalized before he turned 18, he can file an N-600 for a copy of his naturalization certificate. If not and he has been a legal permanent resident of the US for five years, he can apply for citizenship. Somewhere along the process, he needs to produce the real birth certificate. This is, of course, only if he discovers his birth certificate is fake and he was not born in the US. In the meantime, he needs to contact the recorder for the county in which his birth was recorded, in the US I assume, and get a certified and embossed true copy of his original birth certificate.

BTW, if his birth certificate was fake, and he showed that to the military when he enlisted, and the DOS and the DOD end up talking to each other about that, he has some serious explaining to do.

I understand that this is most likely due to a problem with the birth certificate and potentially some underlying issues there BUT my husband was also denied a passport because his brother has used his name as an alias more than once when being arrested. They simply denied him. End of story at that point and nothing to do unless we asked for help. He went to his state representative and they stepped in to assist. Perhaps getting some help on this would make it a smoother process for you to sort out.
