Duality,

In Australia, if you live in Queensland or New South Wales, your police certificate is sent directly to the Consulate, not to you. You MUST have your case number or they cannot match your certificate to your case.

Rachkate - that's the ONLY kind of police check there is. Australia nationalized its police check procedures about three years ago. Your home state police department forward the request to the AFP. If I remember correctly, WA folk go directly to the AFP, but every other state go through your local police.

I am speaking from an IR1/CR1 perspective. Perhaps others who are familiar with the K1 can answer this question.

Sukie

Thanks! So much reading I get soo confused! Ive booked myself in today with the local police station, the people on the phone said to double check with the embassy but Im a little short on time so Im just going to go with this. The TSC was sooo slow approving our I129F and we have already booked our wedding!

was this to get your case number?
I think I need to ring them because I accidently wrote Melbourne as the consulate instead of Sydney, when I submitted my application....

do you think they will automatically fix that or will I actually need to ring them???

They should fix it, they'll either send it to Sydney straight up, or Melbourne will forward it to Sydney since that's the only consulate that does visas I think.

Yeah, and the lines are always busy. It's ridiculous.

Yes It was all good! Automatically went to Sydney!
Im actually in the states right now and I made it through with no problems.

The only suggestion that I make is to not to send a confirmation e-mail to them saying that you can attend the interview. I did this out of courtesy and they CANCELLED THE INTERVIEW! Was able to get it uncancelled though pretty easy. But it was very very stressful.

You will get what I mean by getting into trouble by replying though when you read the e-mail they send.

I wouldnt play the wait game, you can go and get your medical done now. The doctor gave mine only 3 months validity though so good to keep in mind because it has to be relevant when you enter. Also you should apply for a national police check with fingerprints through the vic police, its totally fine doesnt have to be through the feds for victorians (because our system is awesome ;)) At least thats what the police officer said to me.

Also you need a digital US passport photo, that held up my response to the initial e-mail because you need to fill out an online form before they issue the interview date. You can find out where to get these online.

I heard back from Sydney about 3 weeks after the NOA2 and they scheduled the interview for 3 weeks after I submitted the online form. Everyone is different though.
