Why does everybody talk about i693 if instruction clearly state no need to include

Hey everybody,

I'm struggling, as many others, with the medical requirements. In the instructions, it clearly states there is no need to include a i-693, if medical was done within 1 year, only submit vaccination report (DS 3025), so why does it say here, to do so??? and everybody else seems to attach that too? I'm confused, and look for clarity?!

I really appreciate!!!

Thanks!

Are you referring to AOS from a K1?

Many people don't have a complete immunization record abroad. If your DS3025 does not have everything marks complete, you need to redo the entire I-693 at a civil surgeon in the US.

K1 Visa Process AOS Process

Mar 18 2013: I-129F mailed to CSC Nov 15 2013: I-485 with EAD/AP filed at Chicago Lockbox

Sept 19 2013: Interview - Approved!! Jan 25 2014: EAD/AP Card Received

Oct 6 2013: POE - Chicago O'Hare June 2 2014: Permanent Resident Card Received!

Oct 27 2013: Wedding!

Yeah I am referring to AOS from a K1. But I just notice, I do not have a cross on US vaccination requirements COMPLETE. But I did all vaccination. How do I know if everything is complete?

Is it because I'm missing the influenza shot? That would be ridiculous...

If not marked complete or eligible for a waiver then you need to get it transcribed by a CS.

It's flu season so yes you still need a flu shot, you can get it anywhere just as long you get it transcribed to a I-693 by a CS.

The instructions state you do not need another medical, but also that you are required to have the vaccinations and would only skip the civil surgeon if you had them all and they were marked off on a properly filled out DS-3025. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428381-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-and-vaccination-report/?p=6206232

Well that's exactly what I said, lol. I was literally being frustrated why they just didnt tell me in the first place when I was at a doctor 2 weeks ago, and now I have to go again to get a stupid flu shot! I mean I was literally asking if everything is complete. I could have just got the same day for whatever couple of euro, but instead I have to go to a civil surgeon and pay whatever ridiculous amount only because I'm missing a flu shot requirement that expires end of march!!! I had just recovered from a flu like cold...this is simply the most retarded requirement for a green card...

Thanks for the Link. I didnt mean to be rude, I'm just very upset at the moment. Since, it is only 4 weeks to go until flu season ends, would it be advisable to take the risk and go ahead without? Expecting the adjudicator will pick up the case after march? and even there will be a ref, it actually doesn't really matter, right? I mean by then itll be past march and you are good to go? I mean no hurry with that one, it's more that I want to have the working permit, that I need to file with the i-485

I had to go through the same, but it was worth getting the I-693 filled correctly by a CS instead of possibly getting an RFE that could delay my case. You have to ask the CS to transcribe your DS-3025 and not do a full medical again. They will try to say you have to, but take the instruction sheet with you: http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-693instr.pdf highlight #3 on page 5 of 9..... you only need page 1 of the document and the supplement vaccination document filled by the CS. Originally I was being charged $330 for each(for wife and daughter), but because I took the instruction sheet and I highlighted the section above I was only charged $150, still expensive, but better than $330 +..... Good luck to you.

P.S. If you had vaccinations done overseas that require a 2nd dosis (usually after a month of the 1st), then you may need to get those shots and the CS can tell you what you need.

You can apply for expedite request if you qualify for it and you could probably get your EAD card within a month or so. I have seen other people here on VJ who have received there card fast after expedite, but you have to meet the requirements to get it. I did not do expedite mine and got it yesterday about 66 days from NOA. Good luck to you both.

Thanks for the Link. I didnt mean to be rude, I'm just very upset at the moment. Since, it is only 4 weeks to go until flu season ends, would it be advisable to take the risk and go ahead without? I mean no hurry with that one, it's more that I want to have the working permit, that I need to file with the i-485

You can go ahead and try it. If they adjudicate your case when it is not flu season, then they may overlook that the flu shot was missing. The worst that could happen is that they send you an RFE and you could deal with finding a civil surgeon that won't rip you off then. (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/231026-civil-surgeons-who-dont-rip-you-off/page-13) The best that could happen is that you get approved without needing to see a civil surgeon.

P.S. If you had vaccinations done overseas that require a 2nd dosis (usually after a month of the 1st), then you may need to get those shots and the CS can tell you what you need.

Only the first in a series is required for AOS, so no need to go out and see a civil surgeon for an I-693 if you had at least one dose of all of the required vaccinations.
