Trust me Marv, New England is nice, but if you have a chance to live in Hawaii, grab it dude. You'll be able to adjust to the higher cost of living much easier with all that sunshine then you would the crappy winters and cold weather round here, especially as you get older. I'd like to have you as a neighbor, but I wouldn't pass up that opportunity if I were you.

I lived in the Tropics for a while. It got boring fast. I was glad to get back to Northern California, and the perceptible change of seasons.

I can never get over how beautiful, raw and ferocious the Pacific is up north. The coastline is just idyllic.

Just don't get too close: Those sleeper waves will take your life.

I would guess the majority of people over 50 yrs of age would prefer not to have to deal with winters like we have here in NE if they had a choice.

I wouldn't. The snow sucks. I went to Fort Leonard Wood for Basic and AIT. Spending one winter in the Ozarks was enough for me.

Are the winters you experience in Northern California more like an extension of fall rather than a full blown winter?

"I think the media reporting should hold [O'Reilly] to the same standard [as Brian Williams]," former Fox News contributor and American University Journalism Professor Jane Hall told TheWrap. "He reaches how many millions of people a night? If people in the media are dismissing him as, 'he's an entertainer,' I think they're vastly underestimating his influence."

A Fox News spokesperson told The Wrap Hall's contract was not renewed and she was let go; Hall says she left of her own volition.

Hall thinks NBC News' swift response to the Williams scandal was appropriate in the context of the sober "Nightly News" brand, but emphasized O'Reilly shouldn't be let off the hook.

"He is an opinion host, but I don't think that means reporters shouldn't be writing about it given his influence and his ratings," adding that the question reporters need to ask is, "what is your audience, what is your reach, what is your political influence?"

- Jane Hall, former Fox News reporter

The producers are in a difficult spot. He tops the ratings, and has almost as many viewers as the historical documentary series "Alaskan Bush People". We haven't seen this kind of unvarnished truth in media since the historical documentary series "My Favorite Martian".
