Thug Trying to Rob Pharmacy Shot and Killed by the Pharmacist

A pharmacist in Pinch who was forced to make an incredibly difficult decision when an armed robbery turned deadly is speaking out and sharing how his faith is helping him through the ordeal.

Radcliff spoke with an Eyewitness News Reporter and said he is taking no joy in what happened Wednesday.

Radcliff said he does not consider himself a hero, even though his actions may have saved the lives of his co-workers and customers when he shot an armed man at Good Family Pharmacy in Pinch.

Eight people were inside the pharmacy in Pinch when the suspect came through the door about 9:45 a.m.

Kanawha deputies said the man, identified by Kanawha deputies as Terry Gillenwater, 25, of Quick, was wearing a mask over his face.

He stood in line for a few moments before producing a handgun and pointing it directly at the counter workers.

Radcliff had a legal conceal carry permit. Kanawha County deputies said he would not be charged with a crime.

During a news conference Friday, Kanawha County Prosecutor Chuck Miller said everybody has a right to defend themselves against a deadly force

I'm glad his faith is helping hime. It doesn't actually mention what his faith is. Must be one of the ones that are OK with killing someone though. There are a lot like that.

Maybe your neighborhood is wealthy enough where drug dealers don't have to sell drugs, they just hand them to random school children walking by. Tweakers don't share their supply with anybody, and a dealer wouldn't give them out for free.

No, I'm not OK with it. I might do the same if I was in the pharmacist's shoes, but my faith wouldn't comfort me if I killed the guy. If anything it would do the opposite. If your faith says killing is OK, then it sounds like you belong to a pretty violent religion.

The perp drew a sidearm and expressed intent to kill. The person defended himself.

From the video, it looks like this easily could have gone either way, except that the other clerk was blocking line of site so the perp didn't see the drawn sidearm.

Do you suggest that his faith required him to be killed by an armed robber?
