I-551 Stamp

Hi All,

I found information everywhere but could not find all the answers so if anyone had the experience of going to an Infopass appointment to get the I-551 stamp and could share with me.

I have two problems one is that I can't renew my driver's license without the stamp DMV won't accept my I-797 notice extension and also I will be travelling overseas and am worried that the notice won't work as well to re-enter US.

For anyone that scheduled an appointment to get the I-551 stamp:

• Does it matter the option you choose on Infopass website? I could not find an option that exactly matches getting the I-551 stamp.
• What kind of documents you need to bring? Just passport, expired GC, flight ticket, I-979 notice extending my GC for another year until USCIS make their decision on my case?
• There's any form I need to fill out?
• They usually give the stamp for the same period on the I-979 Notice (1 year) or only 6 months?

You can choose any of the options, it doesn't really matter.

You will need your expired green card, I-797C receipt notice for your I-751, and your valid foreign passport.
