If he completed it it should have taken him to a confirmation page where he would have the choice to email it or print the confirmation. I literally just did it a few minutes ago!

Yeah, print off the confirmation page. Or, if you don't have a printer, get it emailed to you. That's an option at the end of the application process. It should contain a barcode on it which needs to be clear (i had printer trouble).
