Thank you Sharda, I called consulate in Toronto and it goes in looops...no live operator. Called BLS Canada, they have no clue about it even though the service is available on their website but it can take several months (https://www.blsindia-canada.com/pol_clr_cert.php). I am very much scared to hand my documents to BLS.

I think I will try to contact Consulate again. My lawyer said he will talk to some senior people at NVC.

I was thinking to authorize a family member to get the certificate from India itself , not sure if thats possible.

Have a member of the family or a friend living in India obtain it for you. My husband need one from Oman, and he hasn't lived there since he was 16, his sister was bale to obtain it for him. Good luck!

Hi. My wife is usa citizen n our petition I-130 has been approved and we r going to file civil docs to nvc. Do i have to file police certificate from pakistan also. I m living in canada as permanent resident since 2 years. Previously living in pakistan since birth. In pakistan u can not get police certificate without physical presence. So no way. Poloce in pakitan will only give certificate if nvc writes a letter directly to them. Pls advice me n help me. Do nvc need police certificate from pakistan? N if they need will they write letter direct to poloce? Or how can i explain to nvc
