(CNN)A gunman shot a doctor at a Texas veterans' hospital Tuesday, then turned his gun on himself.

Both the victim and the shooter in the incident at the El Paso VA Health Care System have died, Maj. Gen. Stephen M. Twitty told reporters.

"All other VA patients and staff are safe. This is an active crime scene, and the shooting incident is under investigation," he said.

The FBI is taking the lead on the investigation.

VA acting Director Pete Dancy expects it will turn up details soon.

i say all the christians who feel threatened, religiously (since they're being enslaved and all), should get together and form their own murican xian brigade and go overseas and start converting the masses back for team jesus. it's been far too long since we've had a proper holy war on this planet.
