My husband has his interview at the Tunis, Tunisia embassy tomorrow morning. We received the P4 on December8th. His CEAC status is still IN TRANSIT! I did follow the instructions on this site for tracking DHL and the shipment which should have had our case in it was delivered to the embassy WEEKS ago. I emailed the embassy two days ago but no response. Is this status not being set to "ready" even something I should be concerned about?

it will change when the embassy starts to process the paperwork. It just means somebody didn't enter a received date in the system

they just didn't update the screen. They could be ready for you. Sometimes they don't update the screens until the end. It all depends on who is working on it.

We went yesterday and they sent us away because the guards were on strike and they weren't let anyone in the building and told us to come back tomorrow. So we went back today and they told us that our case and indeed the entire package of cases never arrived from the NVC and the'd contact us and let us know when to come back. I told them that it was SIGNED for already and that I had tracked it with DHL. I did get to talk with the actual consular officer and she gave me her email and phone number and I emailed her all the tracking information. and she said she'll get back to us next week. GRRRRRRRRRR.

look at our interview review same thing happened to us and took two weeks to get our interview. We got our congressman involved and the congressman said they weren't doing the job right there. They have the case already, they just dont enter them into the system. My husband had someone he knew who worked there to help push our interview through. The same day we got our interview once we had this person involved. Calling doesnt help, emailing doesnt help. My husband had to get others involved and go to the embassy then our case was "magically" found. Hoping they enter your case into their systems soon.

I've actually read your review before Anna.. That's why I was so nervous when my status didn't change to ready. I also had confirmed the date the NVC sent it out and verified it was the only package sent to tunisia that day AND tracked the package and got the confirmation from DHL of delivery to the embassy and presented that to them too..... AND I'm afraid I made a bit of a scene until the counter man went and got the Consul officer. The Consul officer gave me her direct line and email. They've also requested our datafile and hinted that they may be able to process with just that. It's sad that I watched as other people before me were told that their packages hadn't arrived and that they would be contacted later with an interview date and they just said "ok" and left. Course, none of these guys had their mouthy American wives with them like my husband did :protest: HOPEFULLY we won't have to involve my congressman but I will if I have to. GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Yes it happens to everyone from what I was lead to believe... :( thats why I shared my review to prepare others for this issue :( the only good news is soon you should be getting a date but i understand how mad it makes you feel when you are waiting to book a ticket and try to prepare for travel. the wait is hardest when stuff like this happens so close to being done. Wishing you the best and hoping this will be over soon for you.

Hi, I am in the same situation. Nice to hear I am not the only one. According to DHL, it was sent 12/3/14 and arrived on 12/9/14. When I called the embassy last week I was told they had not received it. When I called though FYI they had someone who normally is in Paris working there because it was around the holidays. Clearly they are just not working a lot over the holiday season.

Then, randomly, two days ago it changed from "in transit" to "at NVC" which freaked me out. So I called NVC, and by that time it had already magically changed back to "in transit." They said they had no idea why....

So it is VERY good to read this thread, thank you for starting it.

Anna, what type of congressman did you get involved? Unfortunately my fiance doesn't know people at the embassy.....

My fiance is heading to Tunisia from Libya on January 25th and not going back because this is the estimate I gave him, I want him to have his interview the first week of February!

No.

UG!!! We live right across the street from the Embassy, it's literally a 15 minute walk for us to get there and we are super frustrated by this situation. How much worse it must be to have to coordinate travel from another country and be turned away.
