Allowing wife to be able to work.

After getting a K-1 visa and marrying here in the States can one go right to a I-485 to allow my wife to be able to work in the U.S. or what is the quickest and most efficient way of going about this? Is there a temporary work permit? Our work would require licensing and she will need a social security number. How is this procured in the quickest manner?

in the Adjustment of status paperwork, that you two will prepare and submit,

include the I-765 form.

Have you seen the AOS guide in the Guide section?

If no - I ask you turn off the handphone, come back on a real PC with a real web-browser, and click the word 'Guides' up at the top, read a bit.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Does the I-765 need to be finished first. I can see it is taking TSC over 7 months to do one of these. Curious if my wife will not be able to work for at least a year or so? Will read above too. Thanks.

From my reading it APPEARS that the I-765 is taken while a I-485 is pending. Seems the I-485 will take at least 7 months here in Texas. I am ASSUMING a social security number will be given after approval of the i-765?

oh god. no pc? no access to a pc? ok - I'll write a bit.

1. arrive in USA.

2. 3 days later, take I-94 and passport, get to SSA office, apply for SSN in VISA Name, ask for SAVE database lookup in VISA Name and A#.

3. get married.

4. file the Adjustment of status paperwork. include the I-765 and I-131 (fees are waived on these 2 forms when included with the I-485)

5. 30 to 60 days after receipt notice from #4, a biometrics appointment letter is sent out, handling biometrics appointment for the I-765 (at a minimum).

6. 30 days after biometrics appointment is completed, the EAD card arrives via postal mail.

and that's it. do yer own calendar math, as it's YOUR calendar that's important.

as to TSC doing stuff for EAD - don't try to track that - it's useless.

I am on a pc brother. Reading your timeline it seems like you went through some hell. Thank you for your help, it is greatly appreciated. My hell is just started as my noa1 is over 7 months now. Let the games begin, but when you love someone you're ready to go through hell for them. Thanks again.

ya, AOS can mean different things, depending on what yer doing.

AOS = Adjustment of Status, or Affidavit of Support. I get it, it's doubly-confusing, as yer to include an I-864 with the I-485 (an AOS with the AOS).

ug ug.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

As an aside I can switch to the full VJ on my phone and am accessing now on my tablet so you do not need a PC.
