confused 221G

So…Matt just left the embassy…they told him "denied" but they kept his passport. I know it's not the end of the world, but I'm SO confused on how it happened and feel like we are stupid. He didn't have his police certificate. The people at the medical took it from him and he was told they'd send it along with his medical results. But…they don't…and he didn't have it at the interview.

How much will this delay us? He was given a number to call to have it sent over. God, if it weren't the holidays I wouldn't be so upset. I was so organized with everything and I can't believe this happened...

Please help…I know he could still be here soon, but this is just so wrong...

I know exactly how you feel today. My fiancé just called me. He's on his way to the embassy and my stomach is in knots! We know he will get a 221g today because his medical packet is not ready yet. We've been through a lot to make sure everything was ready! We were also hoping to know something by Christmas. It's so very difficult when you have no control and the actions of others are effecting your life. Yes I know just what you're going through!!

I haven't heard of the medical facility keeping a policy report. That sounds strange. When the embassy asked for it did he tell them they kept it to put in his medical packet? They told u they would send it over, but I guess they didn't. Maybe you could call them and find out why they told you that but didn't do it? Maybe they have it and he can pick it up? My fiancé didn't even take those documents to his medical exam. Guess he will have to get another police certificate. Your delay should only be as long as it take to get the embassy that certificate. Sorry to hear you encountered this delay but I think it's a good sign they kept his passport!

Ict is strange they medical people asked for the police report, unless there was something drug related on there and they were testing him?

Anyway, that they kept the passport is a good sign, If the doctor has the report and is sending it over, and that is the only issue, it should only delay you a few days, then the visa will be printed and the passport sent to him. Of course if they lost it and you need to get a new report, it could add weeks.

CEAC says administrative processing. I checked the site that is linked on his blue form and it says no 221 G. It looks like he has to get a completely new police form…I did email the medical center. He called and was told they don't have it, but I emailed them too.

Too bad they did that to cause a delay. ?. Well at least u know once you get a new certificate you're all set to go! It's still a good day for you both!! You're almost there!!

If I remember correctly the doctor took my fiancés police certificate but gave it back to him, as he got two copies when he requested them and I have asked him to check - he still has a copy. So unfortunately it sounds like the doctors are at fault.

…as soon as he got his visa, which should have been right after the new year. I'm already moved into our place and have it set up. I'm just waiting on him.

I even stupidly booked a honeymoon for a month from today, assuming he'd be here. There's still a chance, so I won't cancel it just yet…I hope.

I emailed Knightsbridge to see if they could sent over the carbon copy of his police certificate that they have on file. He's going to call ACRO when he gets home to have that sent over, but if he has to refile, that can take up to 40 days. If they can just send it over, it may only delay it a few days.

I just found out, he had the detailed report that told them of his "arrests" when he was 15. Just not the one that says "no live trace". They wouldn't accept the detailed one. What a bunch of #######.

Well, that actual police certificate is the one that says "no live trace" and that one doesn't take as long to get. I'll find out in a few hours once he's home & can call them...I just don't get why they didn't accept the long one that gives more details.

That's frustrating! I didn't even know they had a different version of a police certificate. I thought the "no trace" was the only one. You truly do learn something new everyday on this website. Keep me updated

Well, he had some misdemeanors when he was a minor-graffiti & the like. So he got a detailed report to prove it wasn't serious. It's the same thing, just detailed. The lady was rude & told him very curtly that she couldn't prove it happened when he was a minor even though the dates were clearly marked in front of her.

Poor guy. When he left he was in shock, stood outside the embassy a moment & a guard pointed a gun at him & told him to move off the property. He's had a rough day...

I'm kind of hoping, & I know it won't happen, that when it gets looked at later, they approve him after looking at the acro report. I'm doubting it, but it'd be nice. He should be home in an hour to call & find out.

Ok, so the 221g box on the blue form he was given isn't ticked. What does that mean?
