Survivalists are insane. I saw a show here where a bloke went to live with a couple for a week. They didn't watch TV or use the internet but spent all their free time listening to underground radio stations.

Not only were they preparing for the end, they actually chose to cut themselves off from the rest of the world.

I expect you get this sort of thing in remote communities. As much a product of ignorance as anything else.
