Hello! My dad came here in United States year 2011 and got his 10 year green card. He left and went back to the Philippines after 3 months of stay here in US. He abandoned his residency here in the US. Now he wanted me to petition him again, but he is planning to adopt his grand children. My questions are ;

1. Can my dad adopt my nephews, then live in the Philippines for 2 more years, then petition my dad again?

2. Is it possble after i petition him, he can petition his adopted grand children?

Immigration is well aware of family members trying to creatively shortcut waits by adopting family members in paths with shorter wait periods. That is why it is hard to get a visa for an adopted relative if the parents are not dead.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.
