No contact from NVC after NOA2 receipt three months ago?

Okay, thankyou. My main concern right now though is what happens when the NOA2 expires on January 9th? It's clear that we aren't going to be anywhere near the next stage by then, so does this mean a new NOA2 needs to be issued? Does the expiration date even matter? I mean, what happens when all of this is sorted and the London embassy receives a petition long since expired?

First of all I am sorry to hear all this. Obviously it is not your fault that your petition is not in NVC so you can not be penalized for their error. I am sure once they fix the issue the London embassy will extend the NOA2 validity period.
