So I got a letter in August that we were approved and paper work was being sent to Kingston Jamaica. We have just been waiting and waiting to find out when our interview is and I been emailing and the last email I received back was that they didn't reeceive our petition. I than found out there was the ds-160 form we had to feel out. I did it online last night and am wondering is there anything else I need to do that I don't know about? Also when emailing Kingston for info they asked for a KNG number. I don't even know what that is the only number I have ever gotten was the receipt number

The KNG number is the first three letters of a long number your case is assigned.

You won't know this yet because the embassy has not received your file and therefore have not assigned you one yet.

As long as you filled the online form, wait a couple weeks for it all to process and then I'd suggest to start calling them.

You should research the process a little more so you know what is expected.

You need to call the National Visa Center (603) 334-0700 and give them your USCIS Receipt #.

Ask them if they have received your case. If they have, ask them for:

Case#

Invoice ID#

Beneficiary ID#

When you call, you will have to cal around 30-50 times to get anybody to answer, less if you are lucky. Then you will have to wait for 30-45 minutes on hold after you get through. This is the only way to obtain your case number unfortunately.

Ask them what the status of your case is, if it is in transit to the consulate in Jamaica. Ask the date it was sent.
